Other Dems wait as Sink ponders Senate
When it comes to Florida Democrats dreaming of a U.S. Senate seat, it's Alex Sink's world. Most everybody else is just waiting for her utterance.
In the same way Jeb Bush froze the field of Republican contenders awaiting his decision on a Senate run, Florida's chief financial officer is casting her own shadow over the potentially crowded Democratic race. From Washington to Miami, Democrats are awaiting Sink's decision and speculating about whether her entry in the race would clear away any party rivals.
"I'm very seriously considering the race. It's an enormous opportunity to serve the people of Florida. … I have a few more people I'd like to have the opportunity to speak to about it," Sink said Wednesday, the day after former Gov. Bush bowed out. (story here)

Alex Sink sure started strong.
But after millions of dollars flowed out of the State of Florida's treasury through that bank account switching scam, does anyone else think that Alex Sink is looking like a Democrat version of Buddy Johnson?

Hopefully Sink will come to the same conclusion as Bush, not because she can't win (she can), but because her skill set is as an executive, not as one of 100 legislators.
Run for re-election and run for Governor in 2014, and save our state please.

Alex Sink has totally mis-managed Florida's coffers as CFO, and she actually think Floridians will promote her to the U.S. Senate? LOL, I also have a bridge to sell her too.

How much money has Alex Sink allowed to be "scammed" from Florida's taxpayers?
How much of our money has she allowed to be lost through her terrible judgment as CFO of Florida. She should be fired like the CFO from Bear Stearns.

12:14 Get some sleep.
You got Obama now and everything will be just fine

Republicans ought to be worried.
With Jeb out of the race, save McCollum, there's no other R with the statewide name recognition who could compete with Sink.
And, we've seen what happened in Bill's last two Senate campaigns.
EPIC FAIL!
And, the third time won't be the charm, either, because the D's will continue to drag up his part in the Clinton impeachment fiasco.
And, if you think Marco Rubio can run statewide...Then both you and the former Speaker need to put down the crack pipe.

11:30, 1:34, 1:38 (same toadie) Not to worry; we know who to blame for that: Jeb.

Alex Sink should run for Governor either in 2010 or 2014. She is hard wired with the skills needed to be a great Governor.

Why do you clowns want another Bush in there? Isn't the country in terrible enough shape for you right now?

Dear voters,
I encourage you to write and contact your lawmakers. Education is being critically cut. This will negatively affect the classroom and the students. We as a state, are constitutionally required to balance our budget. We are also constitutionally required to fund class size amendment at the state level. The lawmakers need to follow all the laws, not just the ones that they want.
Support our children and teachers!

Sink for governor. Florida needs her in the top role. It would be such a waste for her to be one of 100 senators. And yes, she does have the ability to run statewide. Can't say that about some Repubs and Dems from south Florida.

Gelber has a statewide footprint? Give me a break...

Alex Sink allowed someone to embezzle nearly $6 million under her current watch as CFO.
She's as dumb as a doorknob.

The fact that individuals on this comment page believe that CFO Sink has done anything less than an admirable job of CFO speaks to the sheer lack of intellect by these individuals. Lets be clear on her performance. She inherited an economic crisis. She warned the Governor over a series of budgetary issues which Governor Crist refused to act upon, mostly due to his aspiration for holding the Vice Presidency for John McCain. Our state's legislators continually legislate policy looking into the rear view mirror instead of looking forward to avoid the major issues that now plague our state. CFO Sink has continually shown through her tenure as CFO, that is capable, she has excellent foresight, and has a better understanding of the budget of this state than the presiding Governor. CFO Sink would be a great choice for Senate, the most capable of the current field of potentials, but in my mind, I believe she would make a much better choice for Governor.
