Why Adam Hasner won't run for higher office
Because of his better half. And we're left a scratching our head about the lack of strong Republicans lining up for attorney general.
George Bennett: When the Boca Raton Republican, 39, recently ruled out a run for Congress, it was considered evidence that he was focusing on a bid for state Senate, attorney general or chief financial officer. But Hasner told the Politics column over the weekend that he doesn't plan to run for any office in 2010 while his wife, veteran GOP operative Jillian Hasner, manages the California gubernatorial campaign of former eBay CEO Meg Whitman.
Jillian Hasner managed George W. Bush's 2000 Florida presidential campaign and worked on Jeb Bush's gubernatorial races. The Whitman gig is "a tremendous opportunity," Adam Hasner said. "Jillian and I are a team, and I am proud of her work. She has always supported my efforts, and I support her 100 percent. While I do not intend to be on the ballot in 2010, I will continue to be actively engaged on the important issues and also working to re-energize the Republican Party."

What a loss. I'm weeping.

Love you both. Miss you Jillian!!

And because, 2010 is likely to be a bad election year to try to move up to statewide office for many Republican legislators like Hasner who haven't fixed things people want fixed.

Hasner's district is a bastion of republicans around which are located two very popular democrats (Deutch and Wexler) who aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
So, despite his assertions to the contrary, Adam isn't running because he knows there's nothing to run for.
Go home, Adam. Spend some time with the family....

Our nation and our state are under attack. We elected some of the aggressors. Hasner is one of the good guys.

Great Republican Leader, Great Politician, Great Husband!
Florida's loss!
Posted by: Envious Wife | May 11, 2009 at 08:23 AM
First of all he would have to get elected!
It sounds like he is possibly going to California. This putz is all mouth and nothing to back it up.He is just not very smart, his big shtick is the fringe talking points.Listen to fox if you want to know what he will say tomorrow.
Posted by: Jim | May 11, 2009 at 08:29 AM
Hasner IS the problem with the party right now.The fringe kidnapped our party and Hasner is more of that jam it down our throats politics.God gave us 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason,Hasner needs to learn to listen.

well that sucks, he's one of my favorites
Posted by: insiders insider | May 11, 2009 at 08:41 AM
He's old-style. At least he's smart enough to know he won't get anywhere. That kind of politics is so over.
Posted by: Good Riddance | May 11, 2009 at 09:17 AM
The writing is on the wall, the type of "re-energizing" the pseudo leaders are pushing on us,is only energizing the fringe. Most moderates are not welcome and Hasner is among those pushing for failure.Hasner spends valuable face time smearing our states most popular Republican, either Adam is stoopid or mislead.Either way,I am glad he is leaving.

Hasner's awesome!
Florida is so lucky to have him as a leader of the GOP. Hardest working guy in Tallahassee. Seems like an excellent husband too. What a guy!

The moral majority is tired of being bad mouthed by the mouthy minority.
A happy moment will be when this vespa king leaves Fl.
Posted by: not fairly represented | May 11, 2009 at 10:17 AM
yes 10:04,its a sad day when little minded people, the likes of Adam Hasner continues to push his,"hate Americans Limbaugh style" to serve a minority of sore losers.Get over it Hasner, the American people as well as Floridians spoke.Nobody voted for Limbaugh, lose the Limbaugh talking points.
Posted by: beat back invaders | May 11, 2009 at 10:24 AM
Hasner's always been a great leader for the party. He doesn't turn a blind eye to those who have openly declared their hate for what America stands for. It's a shame he's not going to be around as more radicals of all religions keep moving up.
Posted by: Michael S | May 11, 2009 at 10:29 AM
A good leader, a good husband and a good American.
Adam, we'll be waiting when you come back!
Posted by: POd CW | May 11, 2009 at 11:13 AM
You are claiming that hasner is a religious warrior? He is a talking point repeater,Ditto head and a parrot.
Where was adam when the state filled up with cheap illegal labor?he didnt care about that enemy did he,because he didn't consider it an enemy to keep wages low. This guy hates working men and women and if adam wanted to fight in a war he could have joined the military.
hasner is like all the other pro war idiots that never served and try to tell us they support troops because they are pro war.Being pro war is NOT supporting the troops.
Why didn't he serve? he is pro war? he claims to be pro military doesnt he?
He is just a big mouth that talks the same line of crap about republicans being needed because they are more patriotic. That is bull
IF ADAM WANTS TO SUPPORT THE MILITARY,TELL HIM TO JOIN,AND TAKE CHENEY AND LIMBAUGH WITH HIM.If an enemy is on the way, tell him to hurry.
dont talkk fight with us who have fought.tell that punk to shut up

it's ok to hate people who want a religious law in America. Wake up and stop blanketly hating people by claiming they blanketly hate other people, you sound ridiculous

seems to be a consensus that Hasner listens to far right media personalities rather then constituents,'cept for his wifes posts.LOL

Here is the comment everybody is talking about where Hasner calls unemployment a handout.
http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/LeadershipOffices/MinorityLeadership/MinorityLeader.aspx?CurrentPage=LatestNews
Seems Hasner really has "it out" for the Florida unemployed.
This is federal money.(not state money)
We will be paying back this stimulus with our federal tax dollars, why not give unemployed Floridians this money offered to them they will be paying back anyway? This is the reason Adam is running, not for office but running scared from this incredibly stupid comment.RUN ADAM RUN!!!
Posted by: hope hasner stays in cali | May 11, 2009 at 12:12 PM
I read all these posts by Hasner's wife and I think I puked in my mouth a little bit.Any man with this much hatred directed towards mankind would never be praised by his wife.
Posted by: Jim | May 11, 2009 at 12:44 PM
Jill Hasner is a professional liar for hire, that explains her "glowing" comments about Adam.
I'll bet if one looked closely, you would see that Jillian wears the pants and makes adams decisions for him.
She told him to "hate" the working class and viola, look at the hate towards the working class he so easily throws around.
Posted by: Jim | May 11, 2009 at 01:13 PM
Hasner leaving is the best news that working Floridians could get this election cycle.
Hasners quote would have made a fantastic sound bite for a money generator for anyone running against him.Democrats will be sorry to see him leave.
Posted by: no unemployment 4 us | May 11, 2009 at 05:01 PM
Mr. Adam Hasner helped my wife when she was sick with cancer. I will never forget the two times he called me to offer his support. This is a good politician.
