yeah man - names like Dorothy Hukill, Jimmy Patronis, and Kelly Stargel really strike fear in the political arena.
more than half of those people are still bitter she beat them over the choo-choo. To latch on to a losing candidate to spite somebody doesn't exactly scream leadership...or even common sense to me.
Perhaps that's why we are in the predicament we are in.
It sure would be nice to have a candidate with some fresh ideas and that hadn't already lost 4 statewide races.

that's a good group. GOP is unified.

Let's get real - these elected officials weren't ASKED for their endorsements, they were TOLD they were going to do it. I can't find a name on this list of anyone that thinks for themselves. They are all "good" Republicans who march in lockstep.

Bill McCollum is the best person for governor considering that CFO Alex Sink was responsible for much of the economic mess that Florida is in. (She made millions personally as president of the banking giant that pawned mortgages to unqualified candidates.)
No wonder so many is endorsing McCollum and polls have him leading Sink.

Where's Sansom's endorsement? What, he couldn't ask the guard to give him some letterhead from the wardens office?

You think DLP is a sheep? LOL

House member Dr. Hayes?

60 memebers of the "high-quality" Florida legislature endorse him. Impressive?

the gop can't get over its losing ways. mccollum will lose big time!
Posted by: losers r us | June 01, 2009 at 07:19 PM
I am not surprised that these rubber stamp republicans would make this decision.
They are used to doing what the GOP (Greedy Old People)
tell them to do, and that's support another loser.
Do you think that they will jump on Charlie's bid for the U.S.
Senate? LOL

Didn't a lot of legislators endorse Johnnie Byrd for state-wide office?

McCollum still has to explain why he used his position of Attorney General to divert several million dollars in taxpayer money to pay for a campaign ad to promote himself.
McCollum claims the ad was a “Public Service Announcement.” But McCollum bypassed the normal competitive process and direclty hired his personal political consultants from prior campaigns. It was a no-advertise, no-bid sweetheart contract to his cronies. The political consultants hired for the P.S.A. are the same he hired for his governor’s campaign. His consultants – here is a surprise – returned the favor and put McCollum in every single frame of the ad!
At the same time that McCollum was spent several millions of taxpayer dollars on this political ad, the State reduced the number of child-sex-crime investigators. McCollum could have used the millions to keep investigators and law enforcement officers. Instead, he used the taxpayer dollars in a shameless promotion of himself.
This betrayal of the public trust would be a tragedy if it were not such a farce. Part of the over two million dollars went to pay for make-up for McCollum.
Does it strike you as a little odd that McCollum, the chief law enforcement officer of the State, would put on over $400 in make-up to film a Public Service Announcement about sexual predators? As Lily Thompson once said, "no matter how cynical you try to be, you just can't keep up."
The only private sector work McCollum has ever done in the last 20 years was – get this – serving as a lobbyist -- for the banking industry. He only got the lobbying job because he was the Republican chair of the Banking Committee in the House of Representatives -- yes, during the whole de-regulatory debacle. I am not making this up!
At best, McCollum is a lightweight. McCollum is a I-4 version of Ray Samsom looking for a Jay Odom.

Half of them endorsed because they don't want him to change his mind, since many are running for a seat created by his leaving AG office! He will never win this state! Repubs better get another candidate quick or they will be handing it over, just giving it away to Sink. Paula Dockery, it doesn't matter what these legislators do, it matters what the voters say. Sombody, please get Dockery to agree to jump in this race, she'll kick Sink's butt.

This is going to be an excellent gubernatorial campaign. Both candidates believe strongly in the concept of fiscal responsibility. AG McCollum is a more conservative proponent than is CFO Sink. So we may have a truly vigorous discussion of the methods we use to accomplish this very important objective. I'm looking forward to it.

Hey "Scary Paula?"--
I don't think "everyone who is anyone" is on that list. Most people in Florida don't know who anyone on that list is.
Posted by: ginger | June 01, 2009 at 11:14 PM
why isn't David Rivera's name on the list?

Bill Mc is just another banana in this Banana Republic parking lot with palm trees. Keep voting republican and see how much worse of Florida can be. Bunch of carpetbaggers selling bs.

Oh--and you left out JEB, who is still running the state via the above names...
Posted by: Ray | June 02, 2009 at 12:58 AM
What has McCollum done for the citizens of Florida? The Sheriffs chase down predators so I ask what has McCollum done. Why did he NOT enter the lawsuit against Verizon to allow cell phone users to prorate cancellation fees? Both California and Minnesota won concessions for it’s' citizens, why did McCollum sit back and not help us? Why hasn't McCollum tried to lower the percentage credit card companies can charge Floridians? Again, I ask what has McCollum done for the average citizen.

Just what we need - someone with no new ideas - he'll just sweep the trust funds, continue to hack at local governments and education, and reward his cronies with state "privatized" contracts with no accountability (al la Bush).

These endorsements are all the reason that we should not vote for Bill McCollum.
This bunch of losers have done nothing but run around crying and trying to find a way to make themselves and the
Greedy Old Party whole again.
They actually are so desperate that they are hanging their hats on Newt, Sarah and Rush. How desperate can one group be?

60 more reasons why Paula Dockery should be Governor.
These guys are the same ones who would be on top on Lenin's tomb for the parade - the "Party Leadership."
Most of these guys are the ones who were pushing that CSX bailout and they lost big time.
Dockery rocks - McCollum's a loser.
Run Paula Run!

The Republican Party of Florida just doesn't get it ! We don't want the same people AGAIN, these are the ones that have got us in this mess...
Send us someone with some new ideas...all 60 of the people supporting him should also RETIRE,
FROM A lifelong Florida Republican,
Bob

As a GOPer I must regretfully call this race as going to Sink. Bill has as much charisma as a soap dish.

By selling out to the unlimited growth crowd, Charlie Crist has shown us the damage a governor can do when he's beholden to special interests. Presidnet Obama has a workable plan to create a sustainable new economy in America. Republicans simply want to revive the same failed growth and energy dependent one that caused our current mess. Under their so-called leadership, developers will get rich, but Florida will be LEFT BEHIND. It's time to elect Democrats across the board. This former Republican will do everything in his power to save our state from these paving and polluting fiends, and the first step is voting all their GOP cronies out of office.

Why should I even consider voting for a holy roller control-freak? McCollum is a theocrat, with no appeal to any true lover of liberty. The only liberty that he cherishes is the freedom of his sect to impose its will on everyone.

This is just a Top 60 list of the worst Chappedlipped Charlies and Brownnosed Bettys in Tally. Their type has ruined the Republican party.

The pro-marijuana wing of the GOP hates McCollum because he won't legalize pot, hence all of the delusional Dockery posts. The pro-tax wing of the Democrats hate McCollum because he will work to fix the school system, unlike Sink, and restrain the growth of government, again unlike Sink. The pro-pervert wing of both parties hate McCollum because he'll lock up online predators and the deviants who inhabit chat rooms. Note, no one has offered any serious critique of McCollum's policies, only incoherent rants. I suspect some of you posters are Alex Sink's speech writers and advisers. It shows...

None of these people, Sink, McCollum or Dockery are the right person and the people know it. If this is all we have to vote for, then it will be Sink.
Posted by: a Floridian | June 02, 2009 at 10:45 PM
Bill McCollum shouldn't feel so happy about this list of legislators. We all know how popular these bozo's are with the people. The average person does not, and with good cause, trust these politicians. Lets look at some of them, Detert? What a piece of loud mouth do nothing but follow the boys hypocrite. Then you have the infamous "king of unethical behavior", DLP. All of the house members should not even be considered, putz's and sheep for sure. In reality, how many Floridians really care who these (many corrupt, lazy fools) legislators endorse. Does anyone here really believe that will persuade the public to vote for McCollum? I don't think so.
Posted by: a Floridian | June 02, 2009 at 10:56 PM
Hey Blue Lizard, the pro-perverts hated Mark Foley too because he "got tough" on online predators when he was in Congress.
Posted by: Thou doth protest too much | June 02, 2009 at 10:58 PM
Blue Lizard:
The Democratic Party doesn't *have* a pro-pervert wing. They all went over to the Republicans where they hang out in airport bathrooms and IM male interns.
