Dennis Baxley endorses Marco Rubio
Let the Tom Gallagher comparisons begin. Marco Rubio tweets that former Fla Christian Coalition executive director Dennis Baxley is endorsing Rubio for U.S. Senate.
UPDATE. From Dennis Baxley's statement: Our nation is at a crossroads and we are in a battle for the soul of our Republican Party and our Nation. Marco Rubio is at the very tipping point of this defining hour. Values and principles are timeless....Most importantly we need to unite behind a leader we can trust. We can trust Marco to stand by his conservative values and uphold his pledge not to raise taxes. We can trust Marco to follow his principles in the fight to appoint strict judges who will uphold the law, not legislate from the bench. We can trust Marco to be a voice against the liberal establishment that wants to expand government into our daily lives, not join them.

If he only had a brain,,,
Marco polo would have not accepted Baxley's endorsement, why would Rubio want
the people who did NOT vote for Baxley to NOT vote for him?
This little feller just doesn't think things through does he.

If Jesus were to return to earth he would most certainly be a Democrat. Republicans, the party of hate and corruption, have nothing in common with the love and compassion of our Savior and his teachings.

How appropriate that a funeral director endorses Marco's campaign. DOA!!!

Baxley and Stemberger did push through Florida's anti gay marriage amendment.
That will draw plenty of votes from the Christian conservatives so for those of you discounting the endorsement you don't understand GOP politics very well.
Remember, after Chuck Crist promised to support the anti-gay marriage campaign he later backed out saying "I'm a live and let live kind of guy"!
That's why the "base" will be supporting Marco.

Republicans are myopic. They can't seem to understand that the entire voting public that identifies themselves as "Republican" is currently about 21% and of that, the "base" is much less.

Baxley is an idiot. Whoever he supports, I will contribute to the opponent.

Dennis Baxley is great.

Why does the St Pete Times think anyone cares what Baxley does? Why don't you let this extremeist fool go away? Please give us a break. Where do you think he fits in in the grand scheme of things? Why do you give him the time of day? I think maybe it is only to show the religious extremeist support Rubio has. If thats is the case, well then I guess I understand the reasoning. If I were Rubio I wouldn't go touting that endorsement out to loud.

The only thing that the Baxley endorsement does is reinforce votes for Rubio that he was going to get anyway.

Baxley couldn't elect himself - literally. Why would anyone care what he does.
I do think its a bad sign that things are so bad that Rubio is already bringing in the undertaker.

Baxley is a holy roller dingaling. Are you people stark raving mad?

many Christian conservatives took a pass on Charlie Crist as they rightly observed him to be a charlatan who was only paying them lip service.
Marco will energize the Christian right and bring out those folks who said "thanks but no thanks" in the last election.

I find it funny that Baxley says he is a god fearing christian yet he runs a funeral home where they take large amounts of money from people on the backs of a death. Is a gold lined vault needed, or the 30K casket. Funeral homes provide services but at very very high prices, it is greed which last I read is considered a sin like gay marriage and gambling.
