Damnit.

Well this isn't what I was hoping for!
Posted by: Paula | June 23, 2009 at 06:01 PM
That is impressive, getting Jeb to do something this overt is pretty unusual, especially for a guy who the Bush family beat the crap out of in 2004. Should be a big night for McCollum.
Posted by: Wow! | June 23, 2009 at 06:20 PM
good to see Bob Allen back in the game.
Posted by: men's room | June 23, 2009 at 06:35 PM
I am having trouble understanding the rules of engagement as argued for weeks ago by the far right extremist crowd rooting for Rubio!
Maybe their side isn't expected to follow the same rules. Maybe the extremists just make up rules as they go!
Who is allowed to endorse whom and when and how!
Posted by: watch out here come the wacko extremists | June 23, 2009 at 07:02 PM
Wrong Bob Allen dummy
It is a fairly common name, you know?
Posted by: Dumb | June 23, 2009 at 07:13 PM
Dumb....Thx for wising us up!
But, think of the fun we could have were it the one and only "Blow-Job" Bob Allen.
I mean, that would lend itself to sooooo many good jokes.
Well, maybe Principal Skinner, uh, General McCollum, can get BJB to host a fundraiser for him in Brevard because it's pretty clear he'll allow anyone to pimp for him.
Even a Governor who crapped all over him six years ago....ha

Legalized extortion, legalized renting, and legalized bribery.

With Pepe Fanjul as an event chairman, please tell us this doesn't mean the U.S. Sugar deal will be stopped in its tracks. Bill, you should know better.

I wonder what Stemberger and his crew will do because they have been very hesitant on McCollum.
Posted by: Joe Cool | June 23, 2009 at 08:05 PM
Honorable and Jeb Bush in the same utterance is vomit in the throat.
Posted by: That's all folks! | June 23, 2009 at 08:35 PM
Honorable Jeb Bush?
Why not The Honorable, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, or Dick Cheney?
Now you know the Honorable losers club.
The GOP is dead and these guys are in charge of digging
the grave.
Find Newt a hooker, Sarah a pom pom, Rush some pills, and Dick a gun. Then send them on their way.
Maybe they can form the GOL. (Great Old Losers) party.
Posted by: No more GOP. (Greedy Old People) | June 23, 2009 at 09:16 PM
Well, that nails it for me, I'm voting for the Democratic candidate. This state can't afford anymore pillaging from Jeb or a Jeb wanna-be.

Howdy Doody will never be governor.

I miss the real Governor of Florida. Thanks for helping Jeb.
Posted by: Bobby | June 23, 2009 at 10:42 PM
I miss the real President of the US. I can only imagine how much better things would be if Sen. Gore hadn't had the election stolen from him. We never would have seen the Worst President Ever, nor experienced the Great Reagan Bush Depression of 2008. Thanks for everything JEB; mission accomplished, you can go now.
Posted by: N.O. Morebush | June 24, 2009 at 08:33 AM
Hasn't Jeb caused enough harm to Florida and to our nation?
His looney brother and criminal buddies brought the Iraq catastrophe on this nation. Jeb totally screwed up the insurance situation in this state during his eight-year reign.
That Bush clan is toxic.
Posted by: how 'bout them repiggies | June 24, 2009 at 08:40 AM
I hear fundraising for McCollum is not going very well, panic is setting in. Not going to be a good July 10 report. People are giving, but not bundling. No enthusiasm, but rote giving.
Quite the reverse on Sink.
Posted by: July 10 Reporting News | June 24, 2009 at 08:45 AM
although Sink is the most unlikely of candidates McCollum lacks the necessary charisma to get elected and his platform is more of the same losing ideology that has this country in the worst recession ever, failing schools, trillions in debt and trillions down the rat hole in an unnecessary war in Iraq.
if this is the best the pubs can do God help them, they will go the way of the dodo bird.
Having Jeb host a fundraiser for political office is like asking Bernie Madoff to host an investment seminar for stock brokers!
Posted by: terminator | June 24, 2009 at 09:30 AM
Support from a Bush is the kiss of death. This pushes McCollum into the ranks of the far right. Definitely Sink is a better choice.
Posted by: Former GOP | June 24, 2009 at 09:32 AM
somebody earlier was right. There's no enthusiasm for McCollum, just something Repubs have to do, after all it's the only choice. But things are very different for Sink, where people are truly excited, That can make all the difference.
Posted by: Ho Hum | June 24, 2009 at 09:57 AM
I guess this means we'll see Karl Rove slandering Alex Sink, although his minions have been busy on the Buzz for quite awhile already.
Posted by: Sick of GOP | June 24, 2009 at 10:09 AM
Good God,
Don't you Dem's have Jobs?
Posted by: ! | June 24, 2009 at 10:14 AM
This is why we're Florid-DUUUH:
LAST in education; FIRST in corruption!
I'm so sick of the Bushes! I wish they'd just go away. The Bush Brothers have done everything in there power to wreck this country. The Bush Brothers should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law! FINALLY, everything was rectified when Obama was elected. They should allow him 12 year term to fix all the problems left behind by the Bush Brothers.
Posted by: Peabody | June 24, 2009 at 10:33 AM
Termie you're going to lose the last shred of credibility you possess.
Your posts vacillate from untruthful to exaggerated & you're beginning to remind me of that poster C.V., THE least favorite Buzz blogger from the 05-06 races!
You can't stand C.C. for not governing and have been defending Jeb as the good governor who worked hard, now you compare him to Bernie Madoff which is a big fat fib and you know it!
Don't criticize our former great dedicated governor, he was the most intelligent and effective governor Florida has ever had. Gov. Bush is passionate and sincere about Education reform with a proven record of success though you don't agree with him.
Posted by: ::: | June 24, 2009 at 10:51 AM
Good God,
Don't you GOPs have Jobs other than "Lobbyist"?
Posted by: !!! | June 24, 2009 at 10:52 AM
10:51 Good Grief! You couldn't pay me enough to drink the Bush Kool-Aid again. I'm voting for Alex Sink, if only because she's at least a decent human being.

"Paul,

At least he aptly named himself!
Posted by: ... | June 24, 2009 at 10:57 AM
McCollum is a theocrat. I have no desire to have holy rollerism shoved down my throat.
Posted by: how 'bout them repiggies | June 24, 2009 at 10:59 AM
I'd rather spend the rest of my life watching paint dry than endure 4 years of McCollum as governor. The man is a dullard.
Posted by: Pickle | June 24, 2009 at 11:02 AM

I think we are finally starting to see some of the things we didn't see before that were part of Jeb's agenda (ex: the Lehman Brothers connection to the SBA and Florida Retirement System pension fund).
Yes he did work hard, very hard. Yes he was thoughtful. Yes he did have BHAI's. Did I agree with a lot of his agenda, NO.
Now that said, my comment is more about the Bush family name in the present context and how W screwed the pooch.
The Bush family name is radioactive in the political arena for the near future (depending upon the collective ability of Americans to remember).
So in essense Jeb has been tarred by brother W and we are seeing some of the negative effects of Jeb's administration which maybe we didn't see back then.
Ps Yes and I do think CC is a POS.
Posted by: terminator | June 24, 2009 at 11:12 AM
Peobody is correct.
Prosecute.
Posted by: Sherman | June 24, 2009 at 11:49 AM
Termie I disagree. Gov. Bush
stands separately on his own excellent reputation and record. What you're inferring is completely unfair.
The fruits of his governing record from 99-2007 show his tireless dedication and character. So many incredible policy achievements, and how can you forget the the superior emergency management he demonstrated during the dangerous 8 (count them)hurricanes he handled and prepared our state for? Show some respect for his true record as governor.
This post is not about the Bush family, it is about a former governor of Florida supporting the only candidate running for governor for the R.P.O.F.
Posted by: Stay on point and be fair | June 24, 2009 at 12:10 PM
JEB helped his brother steal the 2000 election and cheated for him again in 2004. Therefore, in consequence of his actions, we had the Worst President Ever, and still have the Great Reagan-Bush Depression of 2008. JEB is a member of the Bush Crime Family and associating him with W and his failed policies is absolutely appropriate. If McCollum were to win with Bush support this might help legitimize the Bush name and open the door for another slime-ball to ooze back into politics - heaven forbid! We must remain vigilant and stamp out the Bush aspiration whenever they raise their ugly heads.
Posted by: On point and entirely fair | June 24, 2009 at 12:24 PM
Any time that a member of the Bush clan is involved in anything political, it is all about the whole Bush clan and their own self-interests. Incompetence seems to be hardwritten into the DNA of that bunch.
Posted by: how 'bout them repiggies | June 24, 2009 at 12:33 PM
It appears Bush Derangement Syndrome is alive and well, even FIVE months after the last Bush who held an elected office was termed out. What I'd like to know is when you liberals will get over yourselves and your neuroses and check back into reality like the rest of us?
Well, I guess if you did, you'd be Republican.
Posted by: Jason | June 24, 2009 at 12:35 PM
"the rest of us" = 21% and falling!
Posted by: Jason McToady Norquista(R) | June 24, 2009 at 12:48 PM
Bush Derangement Syndrome is now endemic to all 50 states and is spreading throughout the world.

Reality and republican - oops - repiggie in the same sentence? Oh please...
The repiggie party is the Party of Stupid - pale, male and stale, with all the credibility of a used-car dealer.

12:24 Gov. Bush left office with a 65% approval rating after 8 years in office.

So a Right Wing Freak former governor raises money for a Right Wing Freak attorney general . . . where's the story?
Posted by: Freaks R Us | June 24, 2009 at 06:44 PM
Quite an interesting thread since leaving The Buzz last night.
Posted by: Paul D. Harvill | June 24, 2009 at 07:43 PM
I imagine Bush's support will be a net win for McCollum.
Granted a lotof left-leaning individuals who hate Bush, they wouldn't have voted for McCollum anyway. And a lot of Republicans still respect Bush, and if they were on the fence, or disinterested, his support may make them consider McCollum a little more.
Personally I think, unless something blows up for her, Sink is likely to win this. Not necessarily that she is a stronger candidate than McCollum, but Republican stock, justifiably I think, is a little low right now. In addition, being a female will likely attract some right-leaning women.
I think it will be interesting.
