RPOF site ignores Rubio
The state GOP may be officially neutral in the Republican U.S. senate primary, but as an e-mailer points out to Buzz, you would be hard-pressed to know that Charlie Crist even faces a challenger if you went to the RPOF site. It contains plenty of news about Crist's campaign and endorsements but nada that we can see about Marco Rubio.
GOP spokeswoman Katie Gordon heard from the same fellow about this. She responds, "We are more than happy to send and or post information from any campaign. You'll notice we have sent things for Negron, Baker and Putnam within the past week. At this point we have not received any requests from the rubio campaign.
"The gentleman who emailed me was also concerned that the governor is prominently displayed on the site. I explained that he is the sitting governor and our statewide republican leader. When Speaker Rubio was an elected official, he was also displayed prominently on the site."

Jim Greer must be removed from office. He is awful and is going to cause the GOP in Florida to implode.
GREER MUST GO!

Do yourself a favor and skip all things republican on this site as the bias will make your head spin.
In fact, avoid this publication completely and let it go the way of GM.

FLORIDA'S GOVERNOR OF THE TAO
By MARK LANE
Daytona Beach News Journal
Charlie Crist is Florida's Taoist governor.
He strives by not striving. He wins by not playing.
He is the uncarved block upon which independent voters can visualize their wishes.
Crist does not react to the flow of public opinion; he is one with the flow of public opinion.

That is not what she said to me. She said that there are no articles about any candidates on the website. Now there is? Which is it?

Yep... as soon as I saw the "info" about Greer joining McCollum for his announcement... I ignored that "make a donation" button just as quickly as it reminded me of Greer's heavy handed approach to taking sides... even though he is not... wink wink...

Handicappers' Horse Race
....Politics is a great spectator sport. We all become expert horse race handicappers, ready to root our favorite home. We have an interesting political year ahead.
The governorship looks like a two-way race between a classy filly who won her first outing and a seasoned campaigner with stretch staying power who won most of his campaigns. In the race for the U.S. Senate, however, current Gov. Charlie Crist faces a young stallion with a habit of winning who already is inviting attention of those who like to back the longshots. You are probably going to want to get down to the track and watch the early morning workouts before making any big bets.
The only Democrat in the governor's cabinet, Alex Sink is by work experience a fiscal conservative. In business, she rose to become head of Bank of America's Florida operations.
She got a close-up look at state politics when her husband, Bill McBride, left his job as head of the Holland and Knight law firm to run for governor against Jeb Bush. Support for an improvement in the state's educational system was one of the central issues of his campaign.
Republican Bill McCollum has held a succession of political offices, earning a record as a conservative congressman before being elected state attorney general. In that job, his public positions appear to have moved more to the center.
Challenging Crist in the Senate race is Marco Rubio, the aggressive 38-year-old Miami attorney who became a West Miami city councilman in his 20s. Elected to the state house, he rose to be its energetic leader. His conservative record has won the endorsement of fellow Miamian Jeb Bush Jr. (his father, former Gov. Bush, has yet to endorse anyone in the race).

There needs to be a bloodletting at rpof. Too many bloated salaries and ego's over there. They need to hire people who know what to do and how to do it.

Who cares what the RPOF thinks or does? If you want to help Marco Rubio go to RedState.com where Erick Erickson is actively promoting him for his conservative beliefs and doing all that he can to raise money for him. Why get all riled up about a state party that you can do nothing about BUT in Marco Rubio's race you can impact change? If you really want to do something meaningful - help Marco Rubio win the primary and get elected to the US Senate.

RPOF = Charlie Crist, Inc.
Jim Greer = CEO. And you know how much trouble they got us into.

12:32 Get it right. Marco can't afford to waste money on bloggers. These are the Greer boys - on the RPOF payroll. Courtey of the fools still donating to RPOF.
Posted by: Mandy | June 01, 2009 at 12:34 PM
Who would be a good replacement for Greer?
Posted by: FL-GOP | June 01, 2009 at 12:37 PM
I don't know much, if anything, about the innerworkings of the RPOF, but nationally Republicans did extremely poorly - seems like Florida did no worse. McCain was not a good candidate, the backlash against Bush was huge, the economy sucked(s),Obama effectively offered an image of hope and change, and minorities turned out in huge numbers to vote. I don't know if there was much the RPOF could have done.
Even Republicans wanted change, maybe not quite so much change:)
This doesn't mean that are not a bunch of goofballs, they may be, just that the election and decline of Republican Party is not primarily their fault.
Personally, I prefer Rubio to Crist, but I think he is too conservative to win the primary, much less the generally election. However, I will likely vote for him anyway.
I agree with his comment that there is no need for a Republican Party if its positions are the same or similar to the Democratic Party.
If our positions on key issues are unpopular, or continue to lose favour, then we will go the way of the dinasours. So be it.

12:37 Anyone would be just fine. Remember: before Charlie Crist forced him on us Greer was a city councilman in a little town and abusinessman. Just like anyone else might be. Except with a lot less scruples and a lot more gratitude for Charlie.
The point being, Chairman is a job anyone with a little effort can do better than Greer.

pretty sad when a "sitting" governor has to resort to this trickery to even earn the R nod in the primary.
I thinks this speaks volumes about how many R's don't want to see Chucky Cheese elected.
Posted by: terminator | June 01, 2009 at 12:50 PM
How much does RPOF pay Greer to run Charlie's campaign, anyway?
Posted by: Rob | June 01, 2009 at 01:01 PM
Marco has had a good first month, but I do wonder why he isn't going after Crist more. He's had three opportunities to take Crist to task and show people who the real Crist is: 1.) Crist violates his no new taxes pledge, 2.)Crist writes op-ed attacking the Obama budgets a month after hugging him on stage while championing the stimulus dollars. 3.)Charlie veto's the trust fund raid on State's gun trust fund a few months after suggesting it in the first place.
This is typical Crist BS. He's running to the right because he has a primary to win, but after he gets elected he's going to **** us just like last time. Just like when he ran under the Jeb Bush mantle in 06...how'd that turn out?
Don't let him do it Marco. Go after this fraud.
You can't win by playing it safe.

Wow! To characterize Republicans as lemmings would imply some kind of conformity; based on these posts, the GOP is much more like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off. Better call in Newt, Karl, and Rush to impose some order folks. I'd really much prefer to see you go down to defeat united firmly with the irresponsible conservative polices you espouse.
Posted by: AsstroTurf | June 01, 2009 at 01:11 PM
12:48 Because nobody is preventing him. What we need to do is
1) flood RPOF with petitions that Greer resign. Send one. Get everyone you know to send one.
2) show up at the July Quarterly meeting of RPOF with signs calling for Greer's resignation.
Make sure the media is there. Charlie hates to disappoint the media as we all know. Next thing you know, he's throwing Greer under the bus.
Posted by: Wellesley | June 01, 2009 at 01:26 PM
Republican or Democrat, it's always all about power and money. Charlie has been trying to play both sides of the party divide so long now that it's become difficult to tell he's actually a republican anymore. He's a good politician, but I think Rubio stands head and shoulders above him as a natural leader. To their defense, RPOF is as fickle as the latest public opinion poll - as is the DPOF - thus their hearty endorsement of Mr. Tan Man.
Posted by: Bud | June 01, 2009 at 01:30 PM
Anyone still think that lil' Napoleon Rubio is not paying for his faux grassroots "support" on the Buzz?
Posted by: AsstroTurf | June 01, 2009 at 01:40 PM
e-mail the Governor. Ask him to ask for Greer's resignation.
Flood the Governor's office with e-mails and he will take action.

1:11 - Not really lemmings, if Rs go over the cliff, at least we'll know why. I don't think the Rs policies have necessarily irresponsble, I think to many of us are. But, I guess if that is the case, policies ought to take that into account.
I think the last two recessions were to a great extent caused by greed - first the internet/technology then the property booms and busts. I'm not sure how you control those without stepping on people's rights to be stupid. I personally seemed to get more of the bust than the boom.
Trillions in debt when we don't make anything anymore scares the crap out of me. I just read today that our stock market rose because foreign production had increased. I wish China hadn't discovered capitalism. Maybe we can all sell each other insurance.

My entire Ron Paul group is committed to Marco Rubio for the U.S. Senate! We have to stop the Fascists in the Crist/Greer axis and take the Republican party back to what it used to be.
Ron Paul supporters unite for Rubio!
I heard the Orlando Ron Paul group is talking about putting all of it's eggs in the Paula Dockery for Governor basket. Yes, Paula deserves our support, but if she runs she will easily win. Look how awesome she was during SunRail. She is unstoppable!
Rubio is in trouble though unless we go all out like we did for Dr. Paul! Come on guys, we can do it!

Ron Paul supporters unite for Rubio!
I heard the Orlando Ron Paul group is talking about putsching all of it's panzers in the Paula Dockery for Governor campaign. Yes, Paula deserves our support, but if she controls the media she will easily win. Like our Fuhrer Paul, she is unstoppable!
Lil' Rubio is in trouble though unless we go all out like we did for Herr Paul! Come on brown shirts, we can do it!
Posted by: Konrad | June 01, 2009 at 02:38 PM
2:38 "putsch" is a terms which indicates a takeover. Hitler's Beer Hall Putsch was an aborted one. You clearly meant "put", and used a term which means revolting. Which is pretty much what I think of your post too.
Posted by: Jen | June 01, 2009 at 03:12 PM
RPOF has become a laughingstock in Florida.
With all of Greer's criminal activities; raids on the RPOF coffers and the move toward brown shirt political operations, it's no wonder that Rubio and Dockery are getting as much traction as they are for their respective campaigns.
Crist is dying and McCollum is already dead.
Let's go for the future and for GOP victory - Rubio for Senate and Dockery for Governor!
