Adam Putnam banks another 250k
When the numbers are good, why wait until the actual reporting date? Republican agriculture commissioner candidate Adam Putnam says he raised more $250,000 this quarter, bringing his total haul to about $750,000.
"Our campaign continues to gain momentum as we begin our 6th full month on the trail. The good news keeps on coming and I wanted to take a moment to share some of it with you," Putnam said in an e-mail to supporters. "Yesterday we ended our second campaign fundraising quarter with over $250,000 raised. This comes on the heels of our record breaking first quarter. With the generosity of friends and supporters like you it is just another reminder to me that I have the most selfless and giving supporters in our great state."

Zero

And this man is going to regulate the industries that gave him all this money?
Right.

There is no reason that Adam can't take money from Jay Odom.
And, the Republicans shouldn't give back the $1 million that they took from Odom.
What is wrong with taking a lot of money from a GOP donor and then voting for his $6 million airplane hangar?
Adam - still with us and defend our hero Ray Sansom.
PS - I will be at that fund raiser that Buddy Johnson is planning for you.
Posted by: Bill McCollum | July 01, 2009 at 02:54 PM
Actually, Adam thinks that Ray Sansom is a loser and should resign.
Quite frankly, he told me that he hopes that Ray goes to jail, which is the best thing that could help us.

You are kidding me right?
This guy started the cash grab just as the election ended? This is the sort of politician we need to distance ourselves from. How in the world does he perform his current duties? As a nonstop year round "fund raiser" how many dollars for favors have already been bought?
We need public servants, not year round cash grabbers
Posted by: when did the cash grab begin? | July 01, 2009 at 03:15 PM
3:15 is upset when people freely donate their money to help a campaign.
I am upset when the Obama's of the world steal my money and turn around and say it is not enough.
Posted by: Just Sayin | July 01, 2009 at 03:20 PM
"How in the world does he perform his current duties?" Umm, he campaigns when he is home/in the State on the weekends. During the week he is in DC, doing his job as a Congressman.
It's actually a novel concept: hire competent campaign staff that can get things done. Adam has hired the best, which helps explain the fact that he is running circles around all of his opponents.

i hate his accent, makes him sound retarded

Putzman's a moron. If this is the best the R's can do we're in deep doo doo.
Send Alfred C Newman back to his farm in Bartow.
He and his buddy W already bankrupted our country. Wasn't he one of the top guys in the House when the whole house of cards came crashing down?
Posted by: terminator | July 01, 2009 at 04:10 PM
Termie,
Love him or hate him, learn to live with him because Putnam is going to be around for a long time.
By the way, feel free to call him all the names you want. That is only a reflection on your own insecurity.

Hey look! I'm bought and paid for by big business! Isn't that what you wingnuts expect in a GOP candidate?
Posted by: Sad State | July 01, 2009 at 04:49 PM
It's funny how the leftists complain about Republicans raising campaign money, but don't about Democrats doing it.
Chief example: OBAMA!
Posted by: whasup | July 01, 2009 at 04:57 PM
I am waiting for the first Republican to donate Jay Odom's contribution to charity.
Or better yet, call on the GOP to return the million that they got from Odom.
Bill McCollum want to be our Governor, why doesn't he start be giving back all of the cash he received from Odom.
Posted by: Want More | July 01, 2009 at 04:59 PM
No Sad State I'd rather vote for a candidate bought and paid for by Neo-Marxists like Obama did.
Well, he was bought and paid for by Saudi Princes, Rev Wright, Rezko, Mayor Daley, American Terrorists, Socialists, Muslim America Haters...........on and on and on....

3:20,I have no problem what so ever with PEOPLE freely giving to a campaign, this guy collects year round money and you can't tell me ordinary people started giving him money as soon as the last election ended.
Lets see a list and prove me wrong,I'll bet the vast majority was special interest money and corporations,or the companies that all the top 25 employees give the maximum, like bush at the villages or Buchanan with his employees to wash slush cash.
Lets see a list, lets see how many ordinary citizens would give a politician money after an election just ended!!!
If you had money stolen from you, wait,,,we are still on the last budget from Bush, well what I am saying that was Bush that nearly killed the middle class and we are still living on Bushes budget, blame the Bush man.
Maybe you are mad our politicians didn't accept all the money we could have got from the stimulus? Maybe you are mad Adam Hasner said that unemployment was a handout and stopped hundreds of millions of dollars from flowing into the hands of unemployed!!!That's a lot of money that should, could be coming into the state.Lets fight together Mr say together we can stop the greed and destruction of the extremists!

I can see all the Republicans think it is just fine begging for money as a now continuous nonstop operation.I do remember all the republican extremists screaming that Obama was buying the election, now I guess its different if you never stop campaigning.Personally this is the first time I have ever heard of non stop money begging.
I would like to see a list of contributors, where would that be found?
Side note here, has this non stop campaigning always been legal?
This must make Rubio feel like dookie he is playing down money and adam putnam is bragging.

Wait till Scott Maddox jumps into the Ag race next week. Does he really think we've forgot his ridiculous stint as head of the Democratic party?

Termie - what color is the sky in your world? Did you have your Frosted Cocaine Flakes for breakfast again today?
Posted by: Termie is delusional | July 02, 2009 at 09:58 AM
I like what Draper has to say,he is looking at actually doing what an ag commish is supposed to do.I like the plan to integrate Florida's resources to gain a foothold in new green technology.
I know our business oriented little friend from the other side of the aisle raised mucho bucks, think about WHO he raised this money from and what he owes to them!!!
I look forward to Draper coming here to central Florida,we have much farm and ranch land here as well as many out of work construction workers, lets put them to work constructing "green tech" items such as solar panels and wind generators. We could use some aqua farms here also.
We also need to think,we have the cap and trade,we all know that so do we want a constant resistance to that OR someone that will take advantage of that and bring the clean green energy industry here and the dollars that will go with it!
Or we could have one gigantic farm corporation monopoly and ruin our coast line with those little tar balls like they have on Texas beaches like we would get with the champion money raiser.
