Does God prefer Charlie Crist to Marco Rubio?
Just asking, since Gov. Charlie Crist mentioned the Lord when asked about his $4.3-million fundraising haul.
""It's a lot of hard work. And a lot of nice people. Hard work and kind people, obviously. I'm blessed. Thank God,'' Crist said when asked about the time spent raising money. "This is a race about people and about doing what's right for the people of Florida. I'm very pleased by the fund-raising effort, and I'm grateful for it."
The Rubio campaign, meanwhile, brushed off Crist's ginormous financial advantage: "Charlie Crist will need to spend every last cent trying to convince voters that his support for wasteful stimulus spending, cap-and-trade schemes, tax increases and liberal judges are acceptable Republican practices," said Rubio campaign spokesman Alex Burgos.

If God doesn't God prefer Charlie Crist to Marco Rubio, why do we celebrate Cristmas?

If Charlie worships Mammon, then G-d is definitely on his side. I hear the campaign this time will feature a golden calf instead of red bull.

It's not that we prefer Charlie to Marco we just like to rile up the GOP base and give them something to scream about

And Marco can explain all of the corruption, tax increases, and other "leadership" he has provided Florida to date.

Charlie thanks God and Marco throws mud. So which is more religious?

Someone needs to put up a web site so we all can text 10 things we hate about Charlie Crist. I think someone would find if we the people could speak out our minds on this subject just how out of it Crist is. All the money wont help him. Corruption will always out money us because it is our money they buy these jobs with.

I am just wondering, feed the hungry, heal the sick and crippled, minister to any who need it and he walked among the lepers,,,,that just doesn't really sound like a Republican at all!
Extremist Adam Hasner even Protected us from Unemployment and all the evil that would have brought to displaced workers.

Shucking Chuckles attempts to appear to be all things to all people.
This is his modus operandi. He's gonna need his big pile of cash to make everyone think he's really on their side of whatever it is they care about.
Just shucking and jiving his way to Washington.
Wait until next legislative session causes him to choose between what the insatiable beast of state government demands and what Republican primary voters want and need!

5:59 yeah right Charlie thanks the Lord.
I think the DNC gave him most of the money.
Charlie is for tax payer killing of little human embryos for political gain, through the insurance industry under the bus, along with John McCain.
Money doesn't count as much as character.

Carol Browner, former Clinton administration EPA head and current Obama White House climate czar, instructed auto industry execs "to put nothing in writing, ever" regarding secret negotiations she orchestrated regarding a deal to increase federal Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards.
Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-WI, is demanding a congressional investigation of Browner's conduct in the CAFE talks, saying in a letter to Rep. Henry Waxman, D-CA, that Browner "intended to leave little or no documentation of the deliberations that lead to stringent new CAFE standards."
Federal law requires officials to preserve documents concerning significant policy decisions, so instructing participants in a policy negotation concerning a major federal policy change could be viewed as a criminal act.

6:20, repiggies ignore all that stuff. Their "christianity"
these days consists of the Second Amendment, Adam and Eve, the icky sex stuff from Leviticus (except for the adultery stuff - apparently that is okay), and Revelations.
Public piety and rampant holier-than-thou posturing has them strutting around like peacocks, each one claiming to be more sanctified than the other, all the while branding the poor as losers and sinners.
Jesus condemned the rich and the powerful of his day, in no uncertain terms. Despite their much vaunted claims to the "literal" truth of the Scriptures, they use the most torturous sort of contextual "interpretation" to justify their personal embrace of wealth and power.
Overt religiosity is the name of the game these days.

(1) How much of Crist's 4.3 Mil is for the primary? How much will he have to refund his donors when he doesn't win on August 24th.
(2) How will Crist explain his actions that support the Obama econamic plans next year whan Florida's economy is bottoming out, and (3) Crist better pray real hard against any hurricanes(GOD FORBID)
Posted by: GOP INSIDER | July 09, 2009 at 06:43 PM
It is quite simple, really. Chuckles the Clown is raking in the money because he is a sitting governor with one more session to go through. Anyone wanting to get something out of state government will have to contribute to this do-nothing, empty suited, artificially-tanned hack politician.
Also, he has national Republicans supporting him, not because of him, but because they feel he's their best shot at keeping that seat (much like they hedged their bets with Arlen Spectacle, and look where that got them).
Here in Florida, he has the RPOF, which is run by a fat, narcissistic chairman with a homoerotic obsession for Chuckles. Since January 2007, the RPOF has served one purpose and one purpose only: to protect Chuckles, promote his political career, and cover or sugarcoat all of Chuckles' underhanded, RINO actions.
This is why Chuckles the Clown is raking in the money. Take the governorship away and get rid of Jim Greer, and Chuckles is alone in the world... probably wifeless, too.
At least whatever Rubio raised was given by people who actually believe in him and want to see him elected, not because of what they can get out of it.

I'm not some right-wing nut. I'm a businessman and typical moderate GOPer. I voted for Crist last time. I (like most of my moderate GOP neighbors and friends), are offended by the way Crist has spent $, lied about taxes and Amendment 1, kept our schools in the celar, and supported Obama and all his spending. I will vote for Rubio not because he is Pro-life, but because he seems to actually stand for something. I don't think Crist does at all.

The Rubio campaign needs to hire someone that knows what to say in a press release. Bitter and venomous statements like this one signal how bad it hurts. Pros issue bland statements about the campaign being about ideas and expressing confidence in the intelligence of the voters.

Crist announced he'd raised $4.3 million in the second quarter, though he raised money only during 50 days after his May 12 announcement that he'd not seek re-election as governor but would instead run for Senate.
Crist's total dwarfs GOP rival, former House Speaker Marco Rubio of West Miami, who announced that he raised $340,000 in the same period.
___________________
Given the above facts and realities, Marco Rubio should withdraw from the U.S. Senate race and do the following:
1. Spend more time with his family;
2. If interested in being an appointed state judge in Florida, then he needs to make amends with Gov. Crist;
3. If interested in an appointed position within state government, then he needs to make amends with Gov. Crist;
4. Understand the message given: The Republicans with the green usually, if not always, win in the primary.
5. He can still have a wonderful career as an attorney. By the way, what are his specialities?

6:20 nailed it and 6:35 hammered it down!
Republicans are hypocrites and so are any Christians who support R candidates. Instead of speculating on what Jesus might have said about abortion or homosexuality read what he DID say about wealth and greed and about caring for your fellow man. It's right there in the NT spelled out in no uncertain terms.

I really laugh at all these comments that Marco is a true conservative and Marco is a leader. What the hell did Marco do in his 8.5 yrs in the House as speaker? All he had were "crisis" issues that popped up and he never took a stance on. Nothing is ever his fault and he's surrounded by a bunch of imbeciles from miami that tell him he is a God. He once said when he was thinking about running for Cointy Mayor why would I run for that job? No matter what you do you will never please anyone. Are you serious? That's not leadership people that is the real Marco Rubio. I'm not saying Charlie is better but pmder this. The last guy who came out adovcated change a new direction that was elequent and bold has turn out to be all image and no substance. Marco can be brilliant but his ego will ne'er let him. He's too cute to be smart. Jus smile and crack a few jokes to the press Barack. I'm sorry, Marco

Another "huh?" post. Why are you DEMS spending so much time bashing and dismissing Rubio if he has no chance or is so weak? Me thinks you ladies protest too much.
Posted by: Coach | July 09, 2009 at 10:37 PM
What scares me the most is the people who think that was a serious or relevant question. Believe in God is fine, (I do) but thinking that he or she gives a hoot about a republican primary in Florida is laughable!
Posted by: Lonny Awerdick | July 09, 2009 at 10:38 PM
Sadly Lonny, Adam used a normal aside used by many folks on both sides of the aisle to do what east coast media types like to do with GOP pols and attack their faith. I have no idea why Adam felt he needed to play the Christian card here unless he's attempting to enforce his beltway bonifides. Crist made no real emphasis in his quote on Christ and Adam was irresponsible in saying that he did. Shame on you, Adam.

So out of Charlie's huge haul, there is a HUGE chunk he can't touch until the general election? I wonder how much that is. COul;d be the smart money has written checks to Charlie - so they can get access - but only for the General election. That way, they get their money back if he loses and then they can donate it so a winner who can really deliver.
HMMMMM...

Crist is always full of cute sayings but he has NO SUBSTANCE at all!!! He's simply an empty suit. Every voter this election season needs to hammer the candidates with one questions, "HOW ARE YOU GOING TO DO WHAT YOU'RE PROPOSIING?" Make them give answers of substance, not rhetortic!
Posted by: joe | July 10, 2009 at 07:32 AM
I laugh at anyone that thinks Crist is any kind of leader. Email or call his office and ask him for something anything that a Gov. should do and all you will get is a Rex Newman letter stating sorry from Charlie. I have even caught him giving money to phony corp. Some for millions and he said sorry from Charlie. He has did nothing against any corruption. And the policies he has added do not mean nothing. The freedom of speech and public records he passed tightening it up, weeks after passing I had a friend whom his county would not let him speak at meeting, enter public buildings or get access to public records. This man was blocked totally after Crist rewrote the law and this man could not get the time of day. All it would have took is for his office to direct him to where he was suppose to go but he got the same Sorry from Charlie letter everyone else gets from Rex Newman. Crist never has done nothing about corruption just look at how much he is collecting for his campaign. Is it possible he could collect this kind of money for a good cause? Anyways I ask fokes before you vote think of a good reason where the Gov. Should step in and all you will get is a Rex Newman letter to. I have tried over 18 times with records paperwork even tapes and CD'S
Posted by: JOHN | July 10, 2009 at 08:04 AM
Paul - actually, Crist needs to extend the olive branch... because if it comes down to debating conservative issues... Charlie may be at a disadvantage...
Rubio will likely lose, but his intentions may be bigger than him simply winning the race...
But then again, you are supporting the Democrat in the race... right... so we should all listen to you...
