Independence Day

American-Flag When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security. --Such has been the patient sufferance of these colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems of government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these states. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved representative houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the legislative powers, incapable of annihilation, have returned to the people at large for their exercise; the state remaining in the meantime exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

He has endeavored to prevent the population of these states; for that purpose obstructing the laws for naturalization of foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migration hither, and raising the conditions of new appropriations of lands.

He has obstructed the administration of justice, by refusing his assent to laws for establishing judiciary powers.

He has made judges dependent on his will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, standing armies without the consent of our legislature.

He has affected to render the military independent of and superior to civil power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his assent to their acts of pretended legislation:

For quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:

For protecting them, by mock trial, from punishment for any murders which they should commit on the inhabitants of these states:

For cutting off our trade with all parts of the world:

For imposing taxes on us without our consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury:

For transporting us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offenses:


For abolishing the free system of English laws in a neighboring province, establishing therein an arbitrary government, and enlarging its boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule in these colonies:

For taking away our charters, abolishing our most valuable laws, and altering fundamentally the forms of our governments:

For suspending our own legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

He has abdicated government here, by declaring us out of his protection and waging war against us.

He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burned our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large armies of foreign mercenaries to complete the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of cruelty and perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the head of a civilized nation.

He has constrained our fellow citizens taken captive on the high seas to bear arms against their country, to become the executioners of their friends and brethren, or to fall themselves by their hands.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian savages, whose known rule of warfare, is undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have we been wanting in attention to our British brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, enemies in war, in peace friends.

We, therefore, the representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name, and by the authority of the good people of these colonies, solemnly publish and declare, that these united colonies are, and of right ought to be free and independent states; that they are absolved from all allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the state of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as free and independent states, they have full power to levy war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do all other acts and things which independent states may of right do. And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

The 4th of July or as some call it 'Independence Day' is just a day off with pay for some and we want to keep it that way.

Understanding The 4th requires Euro-centric history and that is bad.

Euro-centric history is the history of the rappe, plunder and enslavement of native peoples.

At first it was for the gold and silver. Then the land was seized in the name of a Caucasoid king.

The native peoples land was stolen so the Caucasoids could have shopping malls and parking lots for their Eco-killing cars.

Many native people died from the diseases they carried.

So there you have it Rockabilly. It's not a pretty picture.

Thank the gods, Americans are few and a dying breed.

Viva the non-american multicultural mixes and bringing the third world to you.

I went to DC last year, and went to the Archive to see this paradigm of human literature. Luckily, it was on display, which wasn't the case when I had visited as a child. Though the surviving originals have faded so much as to be illegible, it is, along with the Constitution, the most important document in world history. The two epistles are the cornerstones of individual freedom. Can you even begin to imagine what it would be like to be forced to live by precepts in which you do not believe?
We should be wary of the last eight years of assault upon this document's precepts. Our Bill of Rights is under attack, and the gradual erosion of its tenants will result in the further loss of what's left of our Freedom.
For instance, the Patriot Act has effectively nullified the Fourth and Fifth Amendments.. Also, the restoration of Habeas Corpus will not occur until the remaining Gitmo prisoners are afforded traditional due process.
Finally, the War on Terror, like the War on Drugs before it, is merely a smokescreen for what is really happening: The War on Human Liberty.

I like this passage and Thank goodness I am in the majority. I, at one was in what I thought was the Majority,that has since been taken over by the right fringe extremists,who formed a centralized Governing body Using Think tanks like Heritage Foundation to meet this end.Look at the extremists and their media and media personalities all tout "republicanism" and now totally disregard our Democratic Republic!
If you listen to those extremists in media You will even hear about Democracy being MOB rule.
Pay attention when outsiders want to over power the will of THE PEOPLE and defeat a very popular politician in exchange for one that agrees not to follow the "peoples" will but to follow a mantra of a fringe of a political party.

We the working middle class have been under siege and have lost power,wealth,savings and so very many of us now have no health insurance,what do the extremists and their minions say,SOCIALISM,or something about not being a good AMERICAN,we all know this is bunk here is my favorite passage,reminds me of taking back control from the extremists,who almost did us in;

I dislike Crist,just not my sort of person.With Crist we have a man who tries to appease the voters,which a good politician should do,please the people they work for.
This is confusing,he sides with Insurance companies when we all know the Insurance companies denies the service for which they were paid,if this is more profitable for them.
Where is my redress as promised me in the constitution?YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE AS AN INJURED WORKER!
I ask, why do we pay this money/premium? Because it is law,you have to pay them,they are guaranteed a flow of money BUT they do not have to provide the service!
I want the person's responsible for this to suffer as so many common workers have had to suffer.
Until then,no dang Republicans.
I have convinced all my family to vote away from the party we all grew up in.

Hey, I only agree with half of you bloggers, but I thank God that I am born an American. And I do beleive the United States has a special role in history to take humanity up to the next plateau. And I beleive, slowly, but surely, two steps forward and one step back, we are doing it.

And I also beleive in our two party system and I beleive the party out of power also has a very important role to play to keep the party in power honest and to be ready to step in when the party in power loses steam, which always seems to happen.

Insurance companies now deny treatment and lost wages or retraining to over a third of injured workers.
If an insurance company wrongfully withholds medical treatment the injured worker has no recourse the vast majority of the time,the law far and away favors the insurance company.It is unlawful to sue for treatment being withheld,adjusters are held harmless by law.
Over half the injured workers go into the welfare system having work related injuries treated by welfare or medicaid.
Gat smart,you seem reasonably intelligent,please tell me that Rush hasn't got you so blinded that you don't have a problem with people having to go on relief when a private corporation has already been paid for the administration of health care?

Ahhhh so injured workers are crooks and that's why they do not need legal representation.
I guess you have stats on that,,,no I'll bet ya made it up.
Do you know someone that intentionally hurt himself?
I do know several people that did not get satisfactory medical treatment.
If a worker is guilty of fraud that's a felony and the insurance company has investigators and experts in every area as well as entire legal teams.
If the injured worker was denied treatment he has an 800 number to file a complaint.
The adjuster can not be found guilty of anything.Not one thing except a bonus for closing out cases the fastest.
I asked,do you know someone that actually injured himself to make 20-30% of what they used to make?
Besides,why is tax payer money being spent on workers covered by mandated insurance? Why isn't the insurance Company with their guaranteed cash flow compelled to pay this?
Win-win for the Insurance company and lose lose for both taxpayers and injured workers.

1:29 Yes I have. I have come across married couples that both partners qualified and lived on SSI & Medicare & food stamps. They do odd jobs (paint houses, mow lawns) to pick up a few untaxed dollars and they do fine. There is nothing medically wrong with these people where as they couldn't work on a regular basis. They live the lie.

What about the lady in Sarasota that axed BO for help. What was with her son? Why wasn't he working?

This is what I'm talking about.

If the lady ever got a job in a factory, I guarantee you, she would pop-out one of her eyes with a tool, go on disability and sue the company that hired her!

For some reason you think insurance fraud is rare. It isn't.

The Welfare Queens on Welfare, SSI Medicare and Medicaid and food stamps (A Royal Flush) bring in $30k per year. Not bad if you know how to access the benefits.

I have come across people that own nothing, live in squaller and gave up on life. They want to retire. All that is needed is one good slip & fall in front of the right people as witnesses. 'Oh My Aching Back!'

To top it off, you have the dirtbag lawyers advertising which adds to the claim load and law suits. The lawyers know how much the insurance companies are willing to pay to get rid of a claim. It's a classic shakedown. It's cheaper to pay than fight it, regardless of the case's merits.

So there you have it grasshopper, in a nut shell.
