Iowa robo calls include Jeb Bush in 2012
Radio Iowa: "The survey started off by asking what I thought the most important issue facing America today might be, then rolled right into, 'Who would you vote for in the 2012 Presidential primary?' - offering choices of Huckabee, Palin, Gingrich, Jindal, and JEB BUSH."

America will be ready for a strong republican again by 2012. I guess we could do worse than Jeb.

Run, Jeb, RUN!
Posted by: I love Jeb! | July 02, 2009 at 10:11 AM
Is his last name Bush? Forget it. Cynthia McKinney would easily defeat anyone named Bush in a national election. The Bush name needs to be burried and forgotten politically. That family has already done too much to run this nation into the ground. Selling out the American people with their brand of AMNESTY driven, neo-con, globalist politics just does not work well for this nation. There is nothing more toxic in politics than the Bush name.
Of course if you want to kill off what little remains of the GOP then Jeb is your guy.

Enough with that slimy Bush clan.
Are you people crazy?
Posted by: how 'bout them repiggies | July 02, 2009 at 10:20 AM
God forbid a Bush again.
I am Republican and I wish I got one of those calls. Not one on that list would be my choice. And NO WAY for Jeb and most certainly not the nutjob Palin. If Iowa wnats to now about Jeb. let them ask Floridians. We know him best. He was horrible.
Posted by: 1234 | July 02, 2009 at 10:27 AM
Oh no,if bush runs and doesn't win? the extremists in the entertainment news business will call for and get a bunch of gun toting extremists killed.
Bush has lost far too many of his appointee's and he would not have the power to pull off another 2000 type election.I think Jeb running would bury the extreme in the party forever.
Posted by: soon to be former republican | July 02, 2009 at 10:33 AM
It blows my mind that there are people in this state who truly think Jeb was "horrible". Can you explain, "1234", exactly why you think he was so horrible? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Democracy: Nations aren't usually put to the fearsome test to "live free or die." But Hondurans are accepting it as the world pressures them to reseat a potential dictator in office. They aren't bending. On Tuesday, all 192 members of the U.N. General Assembly voted to condemn Hondurans' removal of President Mel Zelaya from office. He was ousted this week after brazenly defying a Supreme Court ruling against a reelection referendum

Gov. Bush was a great governor but is not viable in '12. Noticeably absent from their list of candidates is the GOP front runner for '12,
Gov. Mitt Romney. Gov. Palin is not even qualified to be P.O.T.U.S.
Posted by: Only in Iowa | July 02, 2009 at 10:51 AM
Bush, some nerve after all he and his family has done to this great state and county. Just look at the mess. How dare a Bush even be thinking he has the any of the answers.
Posted by: john | July 02, 2009 at 10:55 AM
Neither Jeb not Jindal are likely to run in 2012. This was probably a conservative group measuring the viability of Huckabee in Iowa.
Posted by: Campaign Manager | July 02, 2009 at 10:56 AM
Huckabee, Palin, Gingrich, Jindal, and JEB BUSH
No wonder this party is dying on the vine!

native Floridian:
much of what Florida and the nation is going through right now is a direct result of the policies of Jeb and his brother W.
Corporate welfare, tax breaks for multi-millionaires, run amok greed and corruption on Wall Street, unnecessary foreign wars, the decimation of the middle class, destruction of our public school system, environmental degradation. The list could go on and on.
The best thing that could happen to this country would be for the entire Bush Clan to be exiled to Somalia. Actually there's other things that should be done with them but best not to mention those possibilities on a public blog like this.
One would think the Republican Party could identify up and coming leadership and distance itself from the failed policies of Reagan/Bush.
Weak-kneed, empty-headed, stuffed suit, empty chair, self serving, adrogyonous Chuck isn't the answer either.
Until the Republicans go back to their founding ideology (less government, lower taxes, more freedom) they will continue to self destruct.

Oh no are we in trouble.Jeb is too old school,Jeb didn't leave us ready for an economic turn down.I know Charley has taken the blame on much of this on the outside, does not exonerate Jeb.
Far too many of Jebs appointments have fallen by the wayside also,he would have to surround himself with the current politico's.
We need new blood,badly.
If Limbaugh likes someone and pushes them on the air, they will lose!

We will need another republican or any other non-socialist-leaning-party president by 2012 to reign in the growth of government. Almost all - if not all - of Obama's "stimulus" money is going to government departments. That bigger government is great if you have a goverment job. But it's bad if you don't have one, because you'll be paying for them with what little money you have left. American government will no longer be of the people, by the people and for the people. It is becoming American government vs the people.

When Jeb became governor, one could purchase homeowner's insurance at a reasonable rate with very little chance of refusal.
After two terms of Jeb and his insurance pals, the homeowner's insurance market is a disaster.
Everything that Bush family puts its hand to turns into gold for them, but utter crap for the citizenry.
I realize that this blog is filled with Bush toadies and brownnoses, but the little dears need to use their cobwebbed little brains every now and then.
What exactly is better in this state after two Jeb terms?
God help this nation if that fat clown is ever returned to any sort of elective office.

"It is revealing that the governor, who praises his record, isn't running on it.
"When candidate Jeb Bush campaigned in 1998, he said, "Florida can do better." Thanks to the work of his Democratic predecessor, he inherited a budget surplus of roughly $2 billion. Florida was poised to do better, even to do great things. Instead, Gov. Bush squandered the surplus on tax cuts that have returned nothing for the state. Having made lower taxes for a few corporations and the wealthiest 4.5 percent of Floridians his priority, the governor provided slogans and gimmicks that he hoped would fulfill his campaign pledge. ... It is revealing that the governor, who praises his record, isn't running on it. When he isn't trying to sound like Mr. McBride on education, he is resorting to ads that lie about almost every McBride position and jab frantically at every hot-button issue: taxes, the death penalty, gun control. This is the Jeb Bush who in 1994 falsely accused Lawton Chiles of blocking a child-killer's execution. The same Jeb Bush ran in 1998. He just used a different script. Once in office, however, he reverted to the ideologue of eight years ago, taking a wrecking ball to state government before he has a blueprint." (Palm Beach Post editorial, October 27, 2002)

That was Newt Gingrich's surplus as he wrote the budget and the democratic President signed it. So what happened to the Republican surplus?

Bushes, Palins, Romneys, Gingriches, Sanfords...
What a freak show of stupidity and incompetence!
Is this the best you repiggies can do?
Anyone who would vote for Sarah Palin is a total jackass.

Many things, but a couple before I move on - he increased funding for schools over his two terms in office, in real and adjusted for inflation.
Left a 15 to 17 billion dollar surplus (don't recall specific amount).
This one is depends on your perspective. Eliminated intangible tax, which essentially tax people on money they were already taxed on. Didn't affect me, I have about $50 bucks in the bank, but seemed like an unfair tax to me.
Again, depends on your perspective, kept oil rigs at bay (obviously with help of his brother.)
He made a lot of mistakes to STO, Cynthia Henderson, People First. But price of playing the game. No one will get it right all the time. And may not have been concept as much as implementation.

The biggest mistake Floridians ever made was electing Jeb Bush Governor. He totally dismantled the Board of Regents, making our state univeristies compete against each other for money and programs. He killed K-12 education by requiring that teachers spend the entire year teaching a test rather than things that really matter. He was horrible to the environment, by slowing the Everglades restoration by a good 15 years. To think that any Floridian would support him for President really makes me question the judgment of those who live near me.
Posted by: Really? | July 02, 2009 at 06:01 PM
Gator R:
don't forget that although Jeb did increase education funding he was primarily riding the wave of unabated development and taking advantage of all those "exotic loans" being pumped out by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.
And especially don't forget, Jeb REDUCED the amount appropriated for public schools from 60% (state's share) to less than 50% by the time he left office.
Pushing off the state's responsibilities onto local property taxpayers isn't what a good Governor does!

Jeb was horrible. He was a dictator and could care less about what the peple wanted. He did howecer care a great deal for his rich friends and campaign contributors. They were rewarded handsomely. HORRIBLE!
