McCollum raises $1 m plus. Less than Sink.
Bill McCollum's campaign for governor is likely to announce a $1.05 $1.04m fundraising quarter, a source said.
Normally, that would be something to celebrate, but the Republican Attorney General's Democratic opponent, CFO Alex Sink raised more ($1.3m) in the quarter. And considering what she has in the bank ($2.1m) she has double the cash on hand.
But she technically raised less per day. After all, Sink rolled over money from some contributors who gave to her CFO campaign, which she opened in January.
**Update, now that the numbers are online, it looks like Sink actually raised $110k more. Since 5/13, when she announced she was switching from running a re-election campaign to running for governor, she raised $1.15m. These numbers could change once again if the McCollum numbers turn out to be something else. So for the ten people who care about this on a lovely Friday afternoon, stay tuned.
Not all Sink CFO contributors want to be Sink governor contributors. About $19,000 was refunded to contributors (e.g., Republican types) who asked for their money back after she announced she was running for governor in May. McCollum announced shortly afterward. Both Sink and McCollum announced their bids for governor after Gov. Charlie Crist announced he would run for U.S. Senate.

not bad for McCollum but with the entire GOP establishment behind him in a state where the GOP has dominated for well over a decade (and where he's been elected for 30 years)...its kind of weak.
Both he and Sink have some flaws. It will be interesting to see how these thing plays out.

We know what this race means for Obama and 2012. If Sink can win it gives Obama a huge leg up in 2012. McCollum needs to put better numbers then this up because when Obama kicks his fundraising machine into gear look out.

is it true that Alex's campaign paid $17,000 to her own state agency??

So 1.28 for Alex is AWFUL, but 1.05 for the money bags McCollum is NOT BAD.
What.
a.
Joke.
Hypocritical party...can't wait to finish you off in 2010.

If a republican has a big war chest it depends on which faction of the party they are in whether that's considered good or bad,as an extremist,Rubio not collecting money is good,if a Democrat or non-extremist does not have a good quarter, well that shows the people don't like them.
At the same time,if a Democrat collects and spend a lot of money, well its obvious, they bought the election. If a Republican extremist collect and spends a lot of money,by gosh they should become supreme ruler of the world!

So, in 2 months of raising money for CFO, she raised 1.2 and in 3 months of raising for Governor, she did 1.28?
That is pitiful.
And in 5 weeks, McCollum did 1?
She is useless.

Sink is more pro-insurance and free markets then Crist. The insurance industry raised a ton of cash for her when they thought she was only running for CFO. This NEVER would have happened if the insurance boys knew those dollars were going against McCollum for Governor. Thus, Sink played a bait and switch on the insurance crowd. If you understand that scenario, McCollum cleaned her clock. McCollum didn't mislead anyone as to what the money was for, like Sink did.

Is it true McCollum paid $2.5 million state bucks to his own campaign consultant for tv spots?

The GOP should be hiding their faces in shame.
The people didn't want Bill in Washington, why do we want him as our next Governor?
The GOP (Greedy Old People) are digging their own graves,
and RUSH, NEWT,DICK and SARAH are all working the shovels.
