Openness chess: Like McCollum, Sink posts daily sked online

Call it the "openness tit for tat game."

Following the example set weeks ago by her Republican opponent for governor, CFO Alex Sink will begin posting her daily schedules online. Her press office announced the move this afternoon, on the heels of reports about Sink's and McCollum's travels on the state plane that have drawn ethics complaints against both.

McCollum announced he was posting his daily schedule online in May, after Sink called for online logs of state plane use by elected officials including themselves and the governor.

Sink's schedule can be viewed here: www.myfloridacfo.com/CFOCalendar.

two people I don't care about at all.

Tit for tat? can we try not to be so sexist in 2009?

Speaking of wasting taxpayer dollars, how about those taxpayer-funded-self-promotin' emails Ally's office sends out regularly? Seems I recall The Times had a hissy when Buddy Johnson did that. HMMMMMM?

What took so long...the Governor and Lt. Governor have had their schedule on line since Day 1. I sure hope Sink doesn't try to "amend" her old schedules...tampering with government documents is a felony.

Their daily schedules are public records and should have been placed on the Internet a long time ago.

More citizens may show up at events.

Thus more politically active citizens.

Thus - theoretically - a more healthy republic and government.

who cares, i don't want to see the schedule of that crook alex sink

Note the silence of Paul D. Harvill with regards to Sink's obvious problem. Rather than honestly call out Sink's personal usage of state planes, he posts some banal platitude about public records, holding his proverbial hands over his two left ears, shouting, "I do believe in Alex, I do believe in Alex!" Face it, you government employee workday time waster, in addition to your candidate not being ethically superior to McCollum as it pertains to this, Sink is, in fact, worse. She hides her past, obscures her husband, doesn't own up to how she voted on significant public amendments, can't keep track of CFO-responsible financial items, and now, she gets burned in a comical attempt to slime the AG. I can see it now, a split screen commercial where Alex and Bill McBride and their entourage are flying to Thonatassa, or wherever on one side, and a studious McCollum is flying by himself taking notes en route to a an actual state event on the other.
