Sandy Adams v. Suzanne Kosmas?
Orlando Sentinel: State Rep. Sandy Adams, R-Orlando, said today that "there's a high probability that there's truth to" the rumor she plans to run against freshman Democratic Congresswoman Suzanne Kosmas.
"We're putting everything together now, and I expect to make an announcement soon," Adams said.

Suzanne Kosmas is a legislative doppelganger. She claims to be a center-right Democrat in the district, when in fact she is a left-leaning full-throated supporter of Obama's expansionist government policies. Absent any golf trips, Sandy Adams should beat her by a comfortable margin.

Deon Long will be the GOP nominee in that race and he will defeat Kosmas.

On another subject..newspapers wonder why they are struggling. Some of the answer no doubt lies with the web displacing the traditional medium of a hard-copy paper product. But there is another reason - ideological bias. I shall cite three recent examples. The Orlando Sentinel routinely refers to the Club for Growth as, “a conservative political action committee,” which it is. But the paper then turns around and refuses to label Emily’s List as a liberal PAC, even thought the group’s stated goal is to “only support Democratic female candidates who support unrestricted abortion.” The St. Pete Times recently went after Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp, a Republican, for using a state plane to fly from his house in Ft. Myers to his office in Tallahassee. By all means, this was appropriate, but then the paper turned around and suppressed a story, until forced by other media to tip their hand, on Democratic CFO Alex Sink doing the exact same thing, “for fear that they might help Attorney-General Bill McCollum,” to paraphrase the paper’s own editor. Lastly, we have the Washington Post offering to sell access to White House officials at a $2,500/plate dinner (which they cancelled after being shamed enough by Fox and other objective outlets.) Big surprise, a left-leaning news organization offering to sell access to left-leaning White House officials. I have no problem with the fact that many newsrooms are overpopulated with registered Democrats who voted over 90% for the Obama administration. Some professions seem to attract certain types of people. But such blatant spinning and shoddy reporting is only haunting your own industry. If you wonder why no one wants to subscribe, your companies are filing bankruptcy and your articles are mercilessly mocked on the Internet, look no further than the mirror.

Dorothy Hukill is the only person that can win that seat back for the republicans. And she will!

It will be interesting to see how that Karen Diebel does. I met her the other day and she really impressed. I think I'm putting my money on her.

Deon Long????? HAHAHAHAHAHA. That guy has more bagage than a luggage store. Not too mention that he is an unstable personality who owes money all over the state. Deon can spew rhetoric with the best of them but he is not a credible candidate in any way, shape, or form.
Hukill or Adams are obviously the best options. Of the two I think Hukill is the more dynamic and capable leader.

11:49 - Being a politician at a time when people are frustrated with politicians does not make you the best option.

this should be an interesting race, Adams has Matt Dupree and Mitch Needelman running her campaign and that's a bad start all ready
Posted by: give me a break | July 03, 2009 at 01:37 PM
Dont underestimate Sandy Adams. She will have lots of local support and she is very well liked by the business community and the PBA - hence the Mitch Needleman connection.
I agree Matt Dupree is a lightweight, but she'll bring in a real consultant at some point to get the NRCC commitment.
Outside Dorothy Hukill, she is by far the best Republican candidate.
Hukill is probably going to wait out and run for the State Senate. But she's a helluve candidate as well.
Maybe someone can talk Pat Patterson into running so Adams pull out that ole police training and open up a can of whopa$$ on that old fella.

Dorothy Hukill. Watch and see. Hearing very good things about her right now. And DC is already betting on her.
Sandy Adams is a lightweight competing in the heavyweight division now. The differences will become magnified if she runs for a federal race requiring much more substance and attracting much more attention.

12:06... Listen and listen good. This is for your benefit: Stay away from Deon Long. The guy is BAD news.
You choice, but you've been warned.

Conservatives are going with Ken Miller and in the primary it's key to winning. Adams, Hukill, Miller...good field to pick from. Anyone of them would be great for the Republicans.

Kosmas will be a one-term blunder and Dr. Ken Miller will replace her. His first web site is up, check him out at http://www.kenmillerforcongress.com

Kosmas is a joke who sailed under a lucky star to get to congress. She's not stupid, she knows she's 1/10th person Tom Feeney is... having said that, she may very well survive after 2010... after that though... hmmm
Posted by: Kosmas is a lucky lady | July 04, 2009 at 01:05 AM
"1:05" You mean 1/10 the crook Feeney is?
Posted by: Get real | July 04, 2009 at 12:11 PM
Didn't Feeney contract to have the first computer voting machines hacked? According the Clint Curtis' Congressional testimony under oath, he did.

Blue Lizard,
The Washington Post is Liberal? Ha! Fox news is objective? That's insane. Fox has been proven by Fact Check and others to be, of all the news outlets, the most abusive of fact and truth. As an obvious example, they have identified three different Republican politicians who were caught in scandals, as Democrats! Meanwhile, Fox regularly drops key facts from their stories, solely to mislead viewers. Aren't they still saying Obama's birth certificate is bogus, when in fact doctors at the Hawaiian hospital where the President was born have displayed the original to the press? What a joke.
Fox and the other four huge media conglomerates have an obvious agenda, and all their reporting is slanted in that direction: To support the very wealthiest against all the rest of us, without us "catching on".
I'm not trying to say all you GOPers have been duped; but in fact over the last forty years you have been sold a vast, detailed bill of goods by an army of commentators deployed by a cadre of right wing think tanks. The results? On the economic side, it's constantly lowering standards of living for most of us, even as the very richest have become exponentially wealthier. On the political side, we have the steady, gradual erosion of our rights.
Those of us watching Fox are duped, even as the younger voters are maturing with the Internet, and aren't fooled by the distortions spewed out by Main Stream, Corporate Media.
My only complaint is that the Democratic Party is not taking the lead of LBJ, and using this moment in history to grind the GOP into the ground as the American People are finally given a health insurance system like Canada's, which is considered (regardless of Fox's horror stories) the best system on earth. And what about the insane deployment of American troops into over one hundred twenty nations, mostly to support the interests of international corporations who no longer call any country "home"? Those troops need to be brought home, and the two billion dollar a day military expenditures have to be slashed.
Another point: Over the years, the right wing press has successfully portrayed labor unions as the devil. The facts speak for themselves, and in reality the labor unions were the main reason the United States grew the largest middle class on earth. Essentially, the post-war proletariat became capitalists through the benefits of home ownership. No other country has done as well, and it was because of the AFL-CIO.

I heard Deon Long today right along with Marco Rubio at the largest tea party in Orlando and next to Rubio he was by far and away the best speaker.
That's what we need - A conservative Republican "Obama."
Deon Long for Congress!
Posted by: Sarah Wahlquist | July 04, 2009 at 07:27 PM
The people are finally starting to unite together. No more politicians, the citizens are retaking Congress. Dr. Ken Miller is the candidate to take Kosmas down not another politician. Miller is the conservative district 24 has been missing.
Posted by: Tea Party Repub | July 05, 2009 at 06:55 PM
Hukill would be the obvious choice in this race. She's actually accomplished worth while things for our community.
Sandy Adams is a great person and has done great things for our state and will continue to do so, but Hukill is the only one who will be able to send Kosmas back to her real estate office.
By comparing Hukill's accomplishments to Kosmas, you can clearly see who has accomplished more!
Kosmas simply does not represent my values, my interests, my future or the future of District 24!
I hope Hukill does run and takes a new voice and way of doing things to DC.

Does anyone really think that a politician is going to be able to change the way things are done in DC? When has that worked in the past? We are going to continue down this path of mediocrity and compromise unless we put the citizens in charge in DC who will fight for the needs of America and not for the agenda of getting reelected. Its time for a real shake up in DC and the way to do that is to bring in citizens like Dr. Ken Miller to change the way things are done.

please keep underestimating Suzanne Kosmas. The GOP doing so has led her to win five straight super competitive elections.
Posted by: please | July 05, 2009 at 10:14 PM
Kosmas is practically a republican anyways. 2006 and 2008 were about getting more democrats, now we need better democrats. Someone needs to primary against Kosmas. If not, Id vote for the real republican, instead of the republican in dems clothing.
