Sink reports $1.2 million for quarter, $2.4 total

Democratic candidate for governor Alex Sink has just announced that she's raised over $1.28 million in the second fundraising quarter from April 1 through June 30, bringing her total to $2.4 million raised for her 2010 campaign. Her Republican rival, Bill McCollum, has yet to announce his totals.

"I am overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of support from everyday Floridians who are ready for a new and different kind of leader," Sink said in a statement. "Floridians are coming together to send a clear message that they are tired of politics as usual in Tallahassee."

She reports receiving contributions from 3,402 individuals who gave an average of $243. The campaign said she received 1,310 online donations that totaled over $209,000. They also note that 92% of contributors were from the state of Florida. She has $2.1 million cash on hand.

Sink's haul far exceeds her take when she ran for CFO. She didn't file then until 8/30/05, and her first two quarters brought in $432,480.

that's patheic, she should be at 2.5 million a quater atleast!

What do McCollum's numbers look like? If Sink the "shoe-in" is at 1.2, McCollum must have rubio like numbers.

Heck she doesn't need much McCollum will beat himself.

This is the "rockstar" we've been reading so much about. 1.28 really???

If she did 1.2 in 3 months, how much should McCollum have done in 5 weeks or so?

Based on these numbers, he ought to come in around 500k or so, right?

Does anyone know what he did?

This is the best she could come up with?

She raised 1.2 in 2 months when she was running for CFO and could only raise 1.3 in 3 months when running for Governor?

Someone will challege her in the Primary now.

1.28 is great considering the floundering economy and that it's summer...love how everyone runs their mouth on here.

Hey Hmmph,

She announced for governor in May when Charlie went to Senate. Remember, stupid?

Why can't Alex raise money?

Democrats are going to be upset to learn McCollum raised in 6 weeks as much as she did in 3 months.

Its the economy you idiots!! Get over yourselves.

Although I still consider such to be legalized extortion, legalized bribery and legalized renting, I am pleased with the green raised thus far by CFO Alex Sink.

Now that is a brain-twister.
