Clay Shaw says he'd be interested in Senate

Former U.S. Rep. Clay Shaw, R-Fort Lauderdale, said he would "appreciate being asked" to replace Mel Martinez.

"At this point, I wouldn't want to comment on it unless it was offered to me," he said in a telephone interview. "It would certain be a chance from what I'm doing, I'm going back into court mediation. We'd have to think long and hard about it but I would appreciate being asked."

On Martinez's decision, Shaw said it seems obvious: "He's homesick."

"It's understandable. It's a good life in Florida and the atmosphere in Washington has gotten so vicious."

Could we get you anything else Mr. Shaw!!! Ha! Dumbass

Appoint me Chuckie! I'll scope out Dupont Circle for you...

I'd like to see Charlie pick Joe Shmo from anytown FL to fill this seat. Anybody but a politician. There is only a year left before the vote for this seat, so why doesn't Charlie just appoint somebody out of work? I'm certain they'd do a much better job representing us than pols do.

too old

Agreed Shaw is too old. He always seemed like he was suffering from Dimensia whci I htink his wife Emily always tried to hide from everyone. Every played along because they liked Emily.

Do they live in Florida?
I thought they are full time residents in the Carolinas.

Mark Foley for Senate

Wasn't it a Clay Shaw that was arrested in the conspiracy to kill President Kennedy?

Crist would anger too many voters by picking shaw, a true right winger. He needs to pick a boring no name who won't offend anyone.

Like the commercial says, lets get a non-politician running the world, you know, a logger or fireman. We'll FIX CONGRESS!

The Chicago Mob is out, the US Constitution Mob is IN BABY!

Crist should appoint Paula Dockery so she doesnt run against his buddy McCollum . She could aslo get some Federal money for the rail prgoram while she is out of the way.

Why would he pick someone who lost an ele ction? Talk about spitting the voters' faces. The REAL story of how this will play out (and has already happened) will probably never be known. Look how quiet it stayed, even though Connie Mack was told about it weeks ago.
