no suprise. another fake republican from the Crist Family.
Posted by: Wow | September 11, 2009 at 05:12 PM
hey wow, BIG surprise a republican that's showing some class.
Posted by: show some class | September 11, 2009 at 05:53 PM
This guy worked for Charlie and was embarrassed?
Give me a break.
He should be embarrassed about taking up space in Washington.
Posted by: The joke continues, but not funny. | September 11, 2009 at 06:08 PM
So the first headline by Charlie's appointment to the US Senate is advocating the censure of a fellow Republican.
Nice.

See, already aligning himself with the Democrats. In this country, we have freedom of speech!
Posted by: LePew is a jackass | September 11, 2009 at 06:10 PM
The man only spoke-out because according to the many excerpts in the new medical 'mess' was a guarantee to "illegals" for theirs.
If this is true what makes Y'all so upset with someone concerned for our own family known as Americans?
FYI, a few years ago I tried to work in Ireland and their Constitution disallowed my doing so. So what is it? Is it that the USA and its people are too stupid to take care of their own house?
Posted by: Sansom Odom Richburg | September 11, 2009 at 06:26 PM
He just got there and he telling the other chamber how to deal with it's members....before he went it would have been nice if he had read the Constitution---there's a really neat provision called FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
Posted by: That's Our Rookie | September 11, 2009 at 06:27 PM
I want Pepe Lemieux censured for being a suck*ss crony who didn't earn his position. We can't always get what we want though can we?

Calm down, Frenchy. What you call for, you may inherit.

True Conservataive and That's Our Rookie - you are morons.

The point is that you cannot have a debate on the merits if you have members of the House of Representatives shouting insults when someone else has the floor. The House would never tolerate one member to treat another member the way Representative Wilson treated the President, who, after all, was a guest of the House.
Representative Wilson could have refused to attend. Or he could challenge a democrat to a debate on the point he raised (he would lose, but that is another matter).
What Wilson cannot do is treat the floor of the House of Representatives like his family dinner table or like a bar room where he can yell out insults at people he disagrees with and get away with it.

THis is the same guy (who supports and has his strings pulled by Charlie) who criticized all the deficit spending of the Obama administration. Hello! Your boy Chuckles supported Obamalism and its nearly $1Trillion deficit spending plan aka: economic stimulus (that hasn't stimulated anything but the pockets of Washington lobbyists and the re-election campaigns of members of Congress and governors like Charlie Crist).
Posted by: Le Who? | September 11, 2009 at 08:06 PM
That Wilson should have kept his mouth shut doesn't mean Obama isn't a liar. And mostly likely LeMieux as Senator will be nothing more than a place holder for Charlie Crist. I don't much care what he says on this subject or any other.
Posted by: Rockabilly | September 11, 2009 at 08:36 PM
At last, a reasonable and rational Republican in righteous remission from rude, racist rethuglicanism.
Posted by: Paul D. Hairball | September 11, 2009 at 08:48 PM
More importantly, he cast his first vote AGAINST an Obama nominee that Glen Beck has targeted, Cass Sunstein. So, agreeing to censure of Wilson is easy - it's the voting that counts.
Posted by: Kaye Bee - Jax | September 11, 2009 at 08:58 PM
Rockability just opens his mouth and he's a liar.
Posted by: Rockabilly | September 11, 2009 at 09:00 PM
The whole thing is ridiculous....Why you ask? Cause I say it too....OBAMA IS A LIAR !!! One more time....OBAMA IS A LIAR !!
So whats the big deal? I'm still here and Obama is still a liar.....
One more...Charlie is a liar too.!!!

Why doesn't just go ahead and change parties now.
Posted by: LePew | September 11, 2009 at 10:16 PM
A suggestion for Joe Wilson's on floor apology:
Madam Speaker:
I humbly apologize to the House for calling the President a liar while he was addressing us in the chamber, I should followed the example of Ted Kennedy and Harry Reid and wait until he wasn't around.
It is simply no excuse that what he said is absolutley false. I should have left it up to you to correct the President for his repeated lies he shamelessly spewed from this chamber floor.
My sincere apologies madam Speaker.

LeMeiux:
Who do you think you are? I hope the Times sends this to you. You come in for what, a day, and you have the audacity to tell a sitting Congress that a member should be censored? Wake up call for you, Mr. Charlie Asskisser. You have just set yourself up to be censored by both parties. You have been there less than a week and you are already known as the "House Big Mouth". Shut up Mr. L. and try to pretend that you are the New Guy on the Block and try to learn from your seniors, instead of making them laugh behind your back.

This behavior from the Frenchman doesn't surprise me one bit. It's a page out of the Chuckles the Clown playbook: throw your fellow Republicans under the bus so the media and the Marxists in congress pretend to like you.
The Frenchman has lots to learn about Washington.
As for Chuckles the Clown, his disregard for our institutions make him the most contemptible miscreant to ever govern this state. He treats the governorship like a playground club.
Chuckles: "I'm the leader... I make you, my little French friend, Senator of that swing set."
Frenchman: "Yay! I'm somebody now! Chuckles, I promise to be loyal to you, and to take good care of these funs swings for you. I'll charge the other boys and girls lunch money if they want to borrow any of the swings and make sure to give the money to you, dear leader!"
Chuckles: "That's a good little French boy. Now go over there and make me look good to all the other saps."

Mr Wilson is a little man with a little brain. No class whatsoever. At least our new senator has class and apparently guts.
Posted by: Amused by Fox | September 12, 2009 at 12:04 AM
The Republicans are becoming more and more Fascist in their views and actions. Beware. What's next is McCarthy-like witch hunts or a return to the little guy with the moustache. It doesn't take a genius to see that, what's surprising is that it was one of their own who calling them out.

The Democrat "progressives" are becoming more and more communists in their views and actions. Beware. What's next is a Chavez-like power grab, more centralized government and a stifling of any dissent. A self professed commie and 911 Truster like Van Jones gets the boot but only because he got outed by Beck and youtube. What's surprising is how passive so many Americans have become.

After Joe Wilson's outburst, The Whitehouse will Now back Republican's ammendment to require Verification.
WH ON HEALTH CARE, ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
Friday, September 11, 2009 6:04 PM MSNBC
"The question, as we all know, arises from the Wilson "You lie" outburst, and the core claim that notwithstanding specific bill language barring illegal immigrants from participating in the "exchange," as a practical matter, there is no way of verifying the citizenship of applicants -- which is the current state of play. Republicans say that then means illegal immigrants would end up being enrolled in plans -- bill language or no bill language.
Today, for the first time as far as we know, the administration is backing a provision that would require proof of citizenship before someone could enroll in a plan selected on the exchange."

Cong. Wilson's outburst is having its unintended effect -- cable news is all over the "You LIE!" story. Now after clips of Wilson apologizing for the lack of decorum, the analysts substantiate Obama's lies on healthcare. Obama doesn't win this round -- Wilson does.
Speak Truth to Power!

Obama lied and lied and lied and lied, Wilson for President !!!
Posted by: Desert Scorpion | September 12, 2009 at 09:23 AM
You have to remember that Prez Obama is a lawyer. They are well practiced at lying by omission. They also lie well by speaking what is only technically true, but in a way that conveys a larger meaning, which is not true. In this case, Obama lied both ways.
No wonder, our rookie chump Senator came to Obama's defense by condemning Rep. Wilson. Lawyers must stick together, you know.
We can't have people believing lawyers don't tell the truth--even though that might qualify them all most highly as politicians.
Posted by: whasup | September 12, 2009 at 09:28 AM
I agree with George, and so do most people who are not party hacks like those here. It showed a real lack of class. Maybe there's an argument to be made, but that wasn't how or where to do it. Even the Repubs I know are embarassed and ashamed of this Wilson jerk.

The funny thing is... Lemiuex's own appointment was embarrassing and shameful.
Posted by: pot calls kettle black | September 12, 2009 at 10:38 AM
He just got in office and already he's making recommendations about Congressional censure? Shouldn't he have waited at least a week? Geez...the honeymoon is o-v-e-r.
Posted by: delila | September 12, 2009 at 11:25 AM
Look the outburst was wrong. But as an American who is fed up with what is going on, I can certainly understand the frustration. As for the Jr. Senator, he has not been there long enough to form an opinion about anything. this appointment was the last straw. Marco Rubio has my vote.
Posted by: David | September 12, 2009 at 12:27 PM
Freedom of Speech? GOP is concerned with their freedom of speech? Oh right, George W. established his "free speech zones" miles away from any of his events. U.S. citizens were removed from events for just wearing opposing views on their tee shirts. Just another example of their double standards and another new lows from the "right".

Shut up little Georgie. You haven't been elected anything.
Posted by: . | September 12, 2009 at 03:38 PM
First off Mr. Joe Wilson is an Immigration Lawyer, so his outburst only shows the level he will stood to. Make a fortune off immigrants either working for them or against them, he has no ethics. He has used this type of rudeness before to make a point he will insult people who differ ideologically from his position. Exactly the type of person you want representing you in a democracy, as long as you agree with him on every issue.
Now “Danger! Communists taking over Democrat Party” let’s talk about your delusional statements one by one.
1. The Democrat "progressives" are becoming more and more communists in their views and actions.
Where were you when the Republicans were passing the Patriot Act? This piece of legislation took more of your Civil Liberties than had been lost in the previous 200 years. Oh yea that’s right Republicans are regressive, to them Civil Liberties are a nuisance. They only protect the guilty from being convicted in a court of law.
2. Beware. What's next is a Chavez-like power grab, more centralized government and a stifling of any dissent
George H.W. Bush tried during his last year in office to have a bill passed that would have suspended the Constitution for up to six months it would have turned military bases into giant consternation camps and required every American to submit to drug testing. Thankfully the Democrats were in control of Congress at that point in time.
3. A self professed commie and 911 Truster like Van Jones gets the boot but only because he got outed by Beck and youtube.
Van Jones resigned before he became a distraction. The only thing Beck has outed is himself, everyone now knows he is a fanatic and can’t be trusted to check the facts.
Finally let me speak to the Liberals, as you have witnessed over the 200+ days since President Obama took the Oath of Office conservatives have acted like spoiled children. There has been an avalanche of racial slurs all of which “were not meant to be racists”. So far this year no more than 20 republican votes have been cast in support of all the bills that have been passed. The bodies of Republican Representatives and Senators have been obstructionists at every turn. The Birthers in the streets only know what Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck tell them, and you see how nasty they have become. I say it is time to drop the mantel of civility and start getting in their faces. Here is a group that demanded you respect Gorge W. Bush, would even label you a traitor if you voiced any form of decent and they absolutely refuse to respect President Obama. So we should walk up to them and stat yelling the truth in their ears until they run out of lies.

CLUE FOR THE CLUELESS:
exit polling for 2008 national elections revealed that the republican party is...
getting older
geting whiter
getting more regional (southern)
getting more rural
getting less educated
old, white, racist, ignorant and rednecked IS NOT the path to success for a "national" party!!
tenthers
birthers
deathers
Tbaggers
ALL OF YOU DILDOES...
are circling the drain!!

Oh OK, well you should know that everytime a Conservative runs on a Conservative platform; we swamp the Socialist/Marxist Party (AKA National Solialist American Workers Party AKA Democrats).
Posted by: Just Sayin | September 14, 2009 at 05:09 PM
The Senator was way out of line, he realized it, said he got caught up in the moment, he apologized to the President who accepted, move on.
Lemieux calling for the censure of a member of a body he is not a member of, during his first week on the job is ludicrous. One more under the bus.
Zenator, don't knwo if you are George or not, you are typically very knowledgeable, bright and well-written, but you are wrong on this one. Crist never should have picked Lemieux/you, nor should he/you accepted. Lemieux/you threw the other candidates under the bus to get appointed, so I guess this is nothing new for him/you. I grow more and more disappointed. Thought he/you did a good job as chief of staff for a first year.
There are very seasoned members of the House that are in a much better position to determine if any further action is warranted. Who does George think he is? This is the kind of nonsense we can expect from him - what will be best for Crist.
Posted by: Gator(R) | September 14, 2009 at 05:12 PM
Wilson shouldn't have shouted that out on the chamber floor. There is an appropriate Republican response. That is to offer an amendment to any censure resolution adding as additional persons to be censured Fortney Pete Stark and all the others who called then-president Bush a liar. If the Democrats won't censure their own who are guilty of the same offense, the whole fuss is exposed as a partisan exercise. And Lemieux shouldn't give the Democrats cover for that.
Florida has another choice. Marco Rubio is not only senatorial material but could some day be the first Hispanic presidential candidate.
