Sen. George LeMieux is sworn in

U.S. Sen. George LeMieux just took the oath of office, capping a remarkable rise to prominence for the mild-mannered native son of Broward County and close adviser to Gov. Charlie Crist.

With dozens of friends looking on, LeMieux placed his hand on a Bible and took the oath of office from Vice President Joe Biden at 2:55 p.m.

What a disgraceful act of cronyism. Former campaign manager and chief-of-staff elevated to Senate.

Chuckles the Clown will go down as Florida's most despicable, corrupt, do-nothing governor.

I just can't believe this.

So wrong on so many levels.

This act of cronyism, clearly planned weeks before Martinez announced his resignation, leaves me disillusioned in the whole political process, and sad for the State of Florida.

My Dream for America - The Democratic Reform Party

The Democratic Reform Party is currently being formed under the time-honored principles set forth within the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, and the Bible.

As patriotic Americans, it is our duty to follow in the footsteps laid down by the founding fathers of America. By the grace of God, we each shoulder the responsibility to protect and preserve our great Nation. Therein, we each proudly rise up and Pledge our Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

On the other hand, many of us see our two Party system abandoning the principals as set forth by the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, and the Bible. At the very least, most of us already know the Democratic and Republican Parties no longer place much value on the "Will of the People". Not to mention, these two political parties have recently given us Presidential advisors referred to as Czars; an ever increasing and nearly insurmountable debt; two active Wars, and they are moving more rapidly than ever into a socialist form of government.

The Democratic and Republican parties have clearly set their own agendas over the "Will of the People". More importantly, they collaborate together for ever increasing power over the people. An example, they, by and large, pick the candidates they want us to vote for in Federal Elections as evidenced by the national debates that do not allow "third-party" candidates a voice in our election process. The two parties are one and the same, the Republican party was started 78 years after the birth of our great Nation and later split into what is now the Democratic Party. This is a power our founding fathers never condoned or wanted for themselves, our Nation, and the American people. Again by the grace of God, our founding fathers left us the means to form our own political parties to counter vent and restore our government back to the people.

As a family man, a father of two and a grandfather of two with another grandchild on the way, I must admit I've hardly ever voted in my life, and I never will like politics. Nevertheless, I foresee the eventual downfall of this Nation unless something is done in the very near future. The only hope is another political party built on the values and principals this great Nation was founded on. Not being overly surprised, I couldn't find such a political party to join and give my support. This realization happened about the same time one of my daughters told me I was going to be a grandfather again, so I reluctantly decided to begin forming the Democratic Reform Party. The date was on or about August 28, 2009, and since then I've learned I can use all the advise and help in forming this political party into what our founding fathers would be proud of.

In short, I pray you will join in building this new political party. Together, despite the perception that Washington cannot be changed, we can restore our Nation back to a, "Government by the People, for the People".

This is a sad day in what was American Democracy.

Welcome to the New American Democracy; “Of, By, and For the Appointing”

Generally seems like a nice guy, and very bright.

I still can't believe this was so important to him that he had to shaft a bunch of people to get it.

Reminds me of a movie 'Without a Clue'. No one believed Watson (Ben Kingsley) was really solving the crimes (didn't look the part) so he had to hire a more appropriately looking actor to play Sherlock Holmes (Michael Caine). As the movie indicated Holmes was totally clueless, so he had to be effectively manipulated by Kingsley. Mayhem ensued.

This man couldn't get elected in his own hometown. way to cram him down our throats Chuckles. This is a true disgrace. Is he going to call Chuckles before he votes?

Congrats Senator LeMieux! At least now we have one Senator who's not lost in space!

Disappointed,

He wont have to call Chuckles before he votes... he'll just have to bend over, put his head between his legs... and ask him directly.

Heard Jason Unger was there, another one of George's cronies, bet he's got lots of dollar signs rolling around in his head.

Wow. Nelson is a tool, isn't he? When I see the caliber of the people serving in "one of the greatest debating institutions designed by mankind" I now fully understand why the country is in the crapper. Why do we elect these idiots? At some point, we need to take personal responsibility for the reckless disregard with which we wield our voting rights. I wouldn't let most of these guys take on the responsibility of feeding my dog and we're elevating them to the U.S. Senate.

For the first time in my adult life; I’m “not” proud to be a Floridian, and I’m damn frightened about the direction this once great nation is headed!

"For the first time in my adult life; I’m “not” proud to be a Floridian,

Did you turn 18 today! Happy Birthday!

"and I’m damn frightened about the direction this once great nation is headed!"

don't worry those 9-12ers are a bunch of idiots anyways...they won't really form their own political party nor get Palin elected.

Are those strings attached to his body and lips?

Why doesn't the St. Petersburg Times report how many of Zenator Lemieux's "friends" in attendence were lobbyists?

Sen. George LeMieux ---

Welcome to the United States Senate.

Now do a great job on behalf of some 18,000,000 people in Florida as well as the rest of the United States and the planet as your decisions will impact all.

Congratulations to Senator Seatwarmer, who will keep Charlie's seat warm for him until he can rightfully buy his place on the United States Senate.
