Poll: Bill McCollum 46%, Alex Sink 35%; Crist approval 49% | Main | 14 sheriffs back Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp for attorney general »

PBA poll: Crist 53%, Rubio 29%

Looks like Charlie Crist's buddies at the PBA areeager to knock down the growing Buzz that the governor looks increasingly vulnerable against Marco Rubio. The police union today released partial results from a private Oct. 12-13 poll it commissioned from McLaughlin & Associates. The survey of 500 likely Republican voters: Crist 52.8%;  Rubio: 29.4; Undecided: 17.8%.

“This poll shows that the Gov. Crist beats his challenger handily, and the Governor also has an extremely high approval rating,” said David Murrell, Executive Director of the Florida PBA. He said the poll shows Crist with a 67.4 percent approval rating.

“It appears that Republican voters are quite satisfied with Governor Crist’s management of the affairs of Florida and approve of his campaign for the U.S. Senate,” continued Murrell. “His numbers would be the envy of any candidate.”

I hope the Crist campaign is using this poll for their strategy sessions.

Oops, looks like we gave our endorsement at the worse possible time. Hurry, someone run a poll and make sure these are the results.

Skew the results any way you need to. The fact of the matter is, Charlie is losing more ground every day. HA HA HA HA HA

PBA has lost their clout as private prisons have handed it to them over recent years. They are desperate to be relevant in anyway the can be...sad.

same polster for trial lawyers

11:02, my sentiments exactly hahahahha

Your crazy if you think Charlie Crist is going to loose this race! Rubio listened to the insurance agents who wanted ABC anybody but Charlie. The insurance industry is the most hated industry in Florida and once everyone learns they are behind Rubio he will be done. I like Marco but he listened to some bad advice! Rubio goes down and so does Barney Bishop

Oh, and another thing I noticed is that this poll was taken ten days ago. The Rasmussen poll (a much more historically reliable poll, I must add) was taken just 3 days ago and released yesterday.

What's the PBA hiding? Let's see the methodoloy, the way the questions were asked, and who they were asked of.

This is a bogus poll far removed from the results of other much more respected polling organizations.

So yes, let's hope the sycophants, stooges, and opportunists on the Crist bandwagon use the results generated in this silly poll to plot their campaign to elevate the most do-nothing, empty-suited political opportunist and all-around androgynous spray-tanned fairy to ever be elected in this state.

Laughable poll results, but a nice try. Taken from their in-house calling list more than likely.

The PBA is a joke

So basically, the poll base consisted of Chuck’s parents, his pretend wife, his private masseuse Enrique, and some loser living in a singlewide in Lutz named Claude.

All that and the fraud still couldn't pull 100%... must have been the frustrated pretend wife.

But 12:45 - look at what the stock markets were doing as Crist was speaking - kinda like unemployment... the numbers were losing, but not as bad... LOL

everyone knows cops don't know how to conduct a poll.

who did this one...Barney Fife?

gee, it just happened to come out AFTER their endorsement of Chuck Crist.

stick to writing traffic tickets guys. we all know cops aren't the brightest bulbs in the chandelier!

hey Barney...turn the lights and siren on and let's run that red light!
whoooppeee.....we're having fun.
look at those purty lights.

PBA or a RPOF poll etc.

I just love fiction!

McLaughlin & Associates conducted the poll. The Washington Times (a conservative newspaper) has referred to them as "Truly trustworthy" and "the best at scientifically taking the public's pulse and advising those who significantly shape public opinion." They are a known Republican polling firm.

But of course the Rubio fans will try to discredit them now.

You just can't keep you head above water.

time that all expresed comments relative to their chosen candidate...bashing another only reflects upon the candidate whom they support....
PBA is just ONE of the many endorsements for Charlie Crist...sometimes it is just best to say nothing....if what you want to say is not nice

This endorsement and poll is as authentic as Chuck’s hair color, and more transparent than his fake tan. Stay strong Marco... Florida has figured Chuck out.

3:32

I won't try to discredit them, but it is interesting that the results are so far out of line with two other recent polls.

Of course those were kind of odd as well - one showed Rubio beating Meek by a healthy margin, and the other showed him losing. I guess it depends on who you ask and when.

Mafia with badges.

I still am waiting for the FDLE (I assume most are PBA members) to get to the bottom of the Dozier School investigation. Chain Gang, or Whips and Chains, or Empty chair, or winds of change Charlie said we would find out who was burried there, and what killed them. All the FDLE did, was came up with the required number of names to match the number of crosses found there. The crosses were there because that's how many names they had records of. How many bodies are there Charlie, sooner or later, someone is going to have to break out a shovel, and dig.

Marco,Marco..oh Marco....you are such the darling right now....it is so in vogue to write about your great challenge against the GOP establishment and your uphill battle in this senate race, against all the odds. You are enjoying the interest and support of all the Charlie bashers right now. You can do nothing wrong, many months from the actual elections. We know many things about charlie..we see it out here on the blogs daily..the anti Charlie churn..on and on and on...all negative Charlie 24/7. What do we know about Marco? What can this rag tell us about Marco's past? What were his past votes? Is he in debt? What was his solution during the stimulus discussions? Hummmmmm…me thinks that when Crist finally decides to dump his $$ on helping Floridians understand the Marco without his cape, and charm we will all come back to earth and realize that Christ may have some issues, but Marco is not the darling candidate that most out here make him to be. When Marco looses his cape, all these so called supporters will run like cockroaches back under a rock while Charlie remembers who they all are. That will be must see TV!

GO CHARLIE GO!!!!!

I GO AROUND ALL OF FLORIDA AND GO TO ALL THE GUN SHOWS AND IT'S FUNNY ALL THE POLICE ARE VOTING FOR MARO RUBIO A TRUE CONSERATIVE! THE PBA IS ALL POLITICAL! DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE IN A REPUBLICAN PRIMAY THAT REPUBLICANS ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR A GUY LIKE LIBERAL CRIST THAT SUPPORTED OBAMA, A.C.O.R.N. AND PUTS LIBERAL JUDGES ON THE BENCH!? IF YOUR LUCKY US RUBIO SUPPORTERS WILL LET YOU CRIST SUPPORTERS WAVE RUBIO SIGNS ON AUGUST 25th AGAINST MEEKS. LOL!!

CRIST=RINO! RUBIO=REAGAN! NUFF SAID!

Tom Wheeler hard at work bullying the cop unions to support "Chain Gang (HAHAHAHA) Charlie".

I'm sure the rank & file cop appreciates Gov. Crist returning convicted felons' right to vote back automatically (after all, they're such gooood citizens). Yeah, Charlie, we've got YOUR number
