Allen Boyd makes two Florida Democrats against health care bill
U.S. Rep. Allen Boyd plans to vote against the health care bill, confirming his long-held doubts about the size and reach of the proposal.
"While the House bill does take some positive steps toward increasing coverage and reforming insurance regulations, it simply falls short when it comes to lowering healthcare costs for North Florida families and businesses," Boyd said in a statement praised by the Florida Chamber of Commerce.
Orlando-area Rep. Suzanne Kosmas, who took Tom Feeney's seat in 2008, has already said she will vote against the bill. The vote could come late this evening.

I WILL BE CALLING TO THANK HIM.

Allen Boyd IS ONLY DOING IT TO SAVE HIS SEAT.
He supports Nancy Pelosi.
We need to vote out these fools: Boyd, Kosmas and Grayson next year.

Yeah, I'm sure the Florida Chamber is really concerned about lowering healthcare costs for North Florida's families. Lowering costs and raising profits for North Florida businessmen, without regard for the effect on families, now that I believe.

Good for you, Boyd. To do otherwise would have been a costly mistake.

Good job by Boyd! There are so many lies being told about this bill by the ones trying to force it on us. Watch this 60 Minutes investigation on Medicare Fraud http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1tv9lZMA1c or this 60 Minutes: How the Lobbies Rule America. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m17VkNIbymA They are both very enlightening.

I think Boyd should voluntarily waive his (very substantial) taxpayer-funded health care plan until his constituents are taken care of as well as he and his family are.
The great thing about being us is that if we don't like something, we can change it. Not only the current system which wasn't working, but also the next step in an evolving idea of health care. We are the only developed country in the world that doesn't take care of the health of its citizens.
Thankfully, the bill passed - no thanks to you, Representative Boyd... your vote will definitely affect my next vote.

Statement from Senator Al Lawson:
"I am greatly disappointed in Allen Boyd's decision to join with Washington Republicans in opposing real health care reform. Not only is Allen Boyd on the wrong side of history, but he is on the wrong side of the 126,000 of his constituents who currently lack health care coverage. The people of North Florida deserve better than this; the people of North Florida deserve better than Allen Boyd."

We the People are WINNING! The Corporations and their GOP minions haven't got the votes to stop TRUE HEALTH CARE REFORM for all Americans.

220 traitors this is a very sad day in American history and now we get to watch Obama go with hat in hand and beg to the chinese to loan us more money to pay for it.

I'm paid by the right-wing spin machine to post lies about healthcare. We're the same folks that spent all your kids money on tax cuts for the rich, corporate welfare, and war for oil company profit in Iraq. So you know who to blame - it's not the Democrats!

Don't fall for these Dems who voted against this "take over" The dems know who to tell to vote for and against. They had the Dems who would be in danger in 2010 vote against the bill. Obama met with these morons and they had a calculator and they knew how the vote would end up. They are just protecting the Dems for 2010.

Bye,bye Alan - statesmen need only apply.

Check out the contributions that Boyd has received from health care organizations, insurance and doctors. You lost my vote, Alan.

People are saying he did this to make sure he wins votes next election. These comments are coming from REpublicans, I would bet, who will be voting for the Republican challenger anyway. Boyd is going to lose any support among his own party with this one, and will be lucky to make it past the primaries. One of his biggest donors is AmeriPac, whose website says, "kill Obamacare". I think it's clear where his bread is buttered. He doesn't represent his constituency, just his donors.

Can anyone name One Florida representative that has held Town Hall meetings to listen to what their constituents wanted and then voted on "their" behalf.
