Did Sansom offer to repay RPOF for European vacation?

RPOF Chairman Jim Greer sounded like he was still in Halloween mode when asked this afternoon if he turned down an offer by Ray Sansom to pay for the European trip Sansom took his family on and paid for with a party-issued American Express.

"Mhhhhhaaaaaaaaaawwwww," Greer bellowed with laughter.

State Sen. Don Gaetz, R-Niceville, told the Buzz today that as the spending story broke he called Sansom and asked if it were true. "I asked him if he used the party credit card to fly his family to Europe and he said that he did but said he offered to pay the party back. He said Chairman Greer did not accept the check."

But Greer said that's not quite how things played out.

"There was some discussions I had with the speaker last year when I made the decision to end the ability to spend (translation: He took Sansom's card away) and there were some talk about reimbursement. But they never came to fruition. The party was never reimbursed," Greer said."That's all I'll say."

Records show no reimbursements from Sansom for any of the more than $170,000 he spent in 2006-08

In what little Sansom has said about the charges, which have been roundly criticized by fellow Republicans, he defends them as necessary to raise money for the Party and to maintain the sizable GOP advantage in the House.

Why should he pay anything back?. As Republicans we keep everything we can. It doesn't matter who's money it is. We like to take the tax payers money the most because they as soooo stupid and keep voting us in and get what they deserve.

Greer is an assclown.

A leader out of touch. A man of straw clutching at straws, his future closing in front of him like a fist.

Why should we care, they're both scum. Are Florida's independent voters really stupid enough to vote this bunch of crooks back into office again? Surely we've seen enough to know better by now!

yeah, Greer pretends to care now. How about Greer paying back the hundreds of thousands he squandered on luxuries for himself and his fat buddies at RPOF?
And why isn't the IRS investigating Greer, Sansom and any other politician who charged personal expenses on the party charge cards?
Can't wait to see what comes out of the Rothstein case. Bet Chuckles, Greer, Frenchie and the rest are up to their eyeballs in conflicts of interest.
Chuck's poll numbers: "how low can they go"!

Best Buy really misses Ray Ray and his RPOF credit card.

At least he got some nice parting gifts.

Have Marco Rubio,Dean Cannon, Jeff Atwater, and Mike Haridopoulus offered to reimburse the party for what they charged on THEIR credit cards?

why should sansom repay the party if charlie hasn't reimbursed the party for his and carole's personal expenses that were charged to the party AmEx? this is why Greer isnt releasing the statements - not so much to protect himself but to protect charlie AND carole.

The path to Rubio's victory begins by getting rid of Greer.

What is it going to take to get rid of Greer and his fat boys? SPT needs to start doing their job and investigate this! Get the records. The rpof and Florida needs Tallahassee outsiders now more then ever.

The sad part is, I believe Ray more than I believe that fat reprobate Greer.

Too bad no one can see Tom Lee's expenses...they'd make Samsom look responsible and even frugal. Tom set the bar for how to abuse other people's trust and other people's money.

Where's the IRS when you really need them (or maybe the FBI...)??

There's no reason for Gaetz to make this up, but plenty of reason for Greer to deny. How long will Republicans tolerate this behavior? Since it continues unchecked, you can only assume that most are fine with it.

Curious:
Lee? What's that loser doing these days?
Too bad he didn't get a professorship at Hills CC or something like Hari"dope"ilous or Marco.
Is he still running daddy's home building business in Brandon?
Wonder how many new hoochie's he's been through lately? Used to see him all the time at Cafe Cabernet with his entourage.
Oh, sorry forgot. He's not Senate Pres anymore. In fact he's nobody. Guess all the smokers took a pass this time around.

Can anyone name a single good thing Greer has done... for anyone? and throwing mud at someone else isn't an answer.

Gaetz wants to make sure Sansom is removed early! The dominoes have been set up to move things along in the election for State House District 4.

Deals have been made. Blood will be spilled on the runway.

You know, as a Lifelong Florida Republican, who has donated money to the RPOF in the past....this absolutely makes me sick.
And, what really makes me sick...is that the various county Rep. party groups are not demanding the AMEX statements be released...neither is Crist, who is ultamently the head of the RPOF....and, that none of the other elected Republican officials are calling for the release of these statements...seems they all have something to hide?
I hope the FBI gets involved as well as the IRS....we need to cleanup this party...cleaning house of these crooks !

How about the fact that he raised over $4 million this quarter, which is nearly double the Dems?!?! Isnt that what a state party is all about?

Lets keep this real simple...somebody is lying!

VA=FL=Redstate.....he did raise $4 million, all from Special interest groups ! ALL of it !

Greer should be removed from the party leadership and so should all his cronies. Crist should have the guts to do that for the sake of the party he claims to be affiliated with.

You know two groups who are special interest groups? Bankers and cancer patients. "Special interest group" is an expression that doesn't say anything. So, the question that is begged is WHICH special interest groups and why are they objectionable?

Special interest vs uninterested....
"special interest" refers to, for example the $600,000 that Rothstein donated to the RPOF thru 3 different avenues, his personal accout, his family members, and his business...catch on?
and today the RPOF said they will return it as it is discovered Rothstein is being investigated that the money is via a Ponzi scheme, but, oops, problem is, the RPOF has already spent it...clear now ?

Imagine this guy getting to be Karzai's replacement in Afghanistan because karzai's a crook? The $400 EU shoes gives him away though..LOL

I see some of my staff are posting in here again with GOP handles. Ya'll want me to look into this after that butt whoopin' we took yesterday?
