Grayson's money bomb makes noise
Borrowing from Ron Paul, U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson kicked off a "money bomb" today, and by his telling, it's going really well.
As of 4 p.m., Grayson's Web site shows $433,000 has been collected, exceeding a stated goal of $400,000.
"Today, the 2010 elections are one year away," reads a message on the site. "Show America that when someone speaks out for progressive values, for American values, for YOU, he will have the support he needs to win. This is a message to Republicans, to insiders, and to special interests that the truth is powerful."
The Orlando Democrat continues to attract attention, both good and bad. The New York Times on Sunday had a piece on him that cast him as the "liberals' problem child."

I proudly donated to Rep. Grayson today.

I will proudly donate to Rep Grayson's opponent in the next election. Grayson is a demagogue who appeals to the far left of center. The candidate preferred by the so-called progressives like Susan S is the candidate to defeat.

And here's a Jeremiah Wright video.
THIS is what the progressives are all about:

No many what the folks with the sharp teeth wanto to believe, the American people keep saying over and over, "we want progressive -- not conservative -- representation in DC."

For the righties, this just in from the Mad Woman of Minnesota, that congresswoman with the dazzling 93 IQ, Michelle Bachman:
"Just like that brand new Michael Jackson movie came out, ‘This Is It.’ This is it for freedom. If you believe in liberty, and if you’re rejecting tyranny, this is it. Dr. Mark Levin wrote a seminal book that really swept this country called Liberty and Tyranny. And that’s what this debate is about next week. Liberty and tyranny."
There's a bat somewhere looking for his doodoo.

Imposter! Rogue! You sully and make a mockery of my name! You petty progressives are nothing more than incipient socialists!
"Democracy extends the sphere of individual freedom socialism restricts it. Democracy attaches all possible value to each man; socialism makes each man a mere agent a mere number. Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word: equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude."

Rockabilly, why don't you run against Grayson? That would be hilarious.
As far as that "so-called progressive" line, there's no "so-called" about it. I'm proud to be progressive/liberal since my party represents moving the country forward instead of backward like the Republicans.

Because the republicans promised their own health care bill over 6 months ago and have yet to deliver it, I donated money to Grayson yesterday.
Because the republicans in congress are complaining about having to read the health care bill and without reading it have vowed to vote against it, I donated money to Grayson yesterday.
Because the republicans are more concerned about protecting corporate profits than reforming our broken health care system that is on track to eat up 25% of our GDP by 2018, I donated money to Grayson yesterday.
Because the republicans claim they are "pro-life" but do not care what happens to those children after their first breath, I donated money to Grayson yesterday.
Because I have watched health insurance companies deny access to life-saving medical procedures and medicine simply to make more money, I donated money to Grayson yesterday.
Because my religion taught me that Jesus kicked the money changers out of the temples, I donated money to Grayson yesterday.

Because I'm a sucker for a cheap politician who gives the lefties red meat and demagogues an issue, I donated money to Grayson.
Because I'm a progressive and I'm just smarter than all those dull rabbit minds out there, I donated money to Grayson.
Because I have good intentions and people who don't think like I do are evil, I donated money to Grayson.
Because when I see suffering, I think the government should DO something, so I won't have to lift a finger, I donated money to Grayson.
Because the rethugs are evil and greedy and capitalism is a nasty sucky system and the people on talk radio and Faux News should be made to shut up, I donated money to Grayson.
Because I have my head so far up my butt I spy on the world through my own navel, I donated money to Grayson.

Because I work for a death panel, or what most would call a "health insurance company"...
Trust me - reform the health insurance industry now.
