White House: Charlie Crist endorsed stimulus
Asked at today's press briefing whether the White House considered Gov. Charlie Crist's appearance with President Barack Obama in February an endorsement of the stimulus bill, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Crist's words at the event "speak for themselves.
"I think he was very supportive of the legislation and supportive of the benefits that it would have and has had for the state of Florida in seeing positive economic growth," Gibbs said. "I would say yes, yes."

This is just so much fun!

The reason Charlie Crist endorsed the stimulus package was to save and develop his political career. The stimulus package prevented him from making the tough decisions and staking his career on it, like raising revenue through taxes instead of hiding it in fees and cutting certain programs and vetoing more pork from the Republican legislature’s budgets. If he did that he would have gone back on his short sighted anti-tax promises including the idiotic Amendment 1 which Marco Rubio also supported. Crist owes this entire opportunity as a viable candidate for Senate to President Obama, make no mistake about it.
Crist though is better than Rubio because despite all the “conservative” talk, it was Crist who slashed $459 million in pork off of Rubio’s 2007 budget.

4:16 - didn't Crist also slash non-pork projects that put universities or community colleges (not Ray Sansom's though) at a disadvantage?

LOL - clearly, you're one of the staffers who just can't see the picture as it relates to Charlie Crist...

Yes he certainly did slash resources to valuable institutions, but Rubio would have done the same if not more. Case and point is his constant harping about Crist's support for the stimulus while not addressing what he would have done instead of taking that money. I believe its because Rubio knows the only other alternative would have been to raise revenue the hard way if he refused the stimulus. Besides he isn't creative enough to offer anything else.

The Dems are spinning so hard after Tuesday’s elections that the earth may be in danger of flying off its axis.

I am so disgusted by what I am seeing from Charlie Crist I could vomit. I am also sick to my stomach that I voted for him and have regretted it for a long time. But I've been fooled twice and will not be fooled again.

Rubio may be a fascist and sockpuppet for arch criminal Jeb Bush but I have to say that he is at least genuine.
Flip flopping Charlie is a fraud, a joke, a charlatan and an empty suit. His death bed conversions to please the red meat chompin' Palinistas and Beckers should be the kiss of death to this flim flam man.
I voted for Good Time Charlie because he was a moderate (or was before his poll numbers started to drop) but now he is showing his true colors as just another huckster.
His claims that he didn't know that Obama was in the state were absurd, but he also stabbed George W. Bush in the back too...
The sooner that Marco 'Tony Montana' Rubio or some yet to be named DemocRAT drives a stake through this pathological liar's political career will be a great day for Florida.

Alex Sink was another supporter of the pork-filled Stimulus Bill.

The Republican state legislators who voted for this year's state budget filled with stimulus dollars were all also supporters of "the pork-filled Stimulus Bill"
