Winner and loser of the week

Mccol1 Winner of the week: Bill McCollum. The Republican gubernatorial candidate doesn’t seem to realize it yet, but a primary challenge from state Sen. Paula Dockery could be just what he needs to spark interest in his contest and in his campaign. Nothing like a solid primary win to make you look like a winner when its time to face Democratic rival Alex Sink -- who could find herself invisible amid all the attention on McCollum vs. Dockery and Crist vs. Rubio. Runner up: Paula Dockery, whose entry into the governor’s race was greeted with a mass e-mail from the NRA to its members: “ALERT Paula Dockery, A+ NRA rated Senator enters FL Governor’s Race.” It's a sign McCollum still has work to do with the base.

Loser of the week: Karen Thurman. The Florida Democratic Chairwoman made Thurman a big show of the party jumping into St. Petersburg’s officially non-partisan election to help elect Kathleen Ford mayor of Florida’s fourth largest city. Despite Democrats having a hefty voter registration advantage in St. Pete and the state GOP doing zilch to help Bill Foster, Ford  fell well short, Thurman gets to own that that loss. Runners up: Ken Welch and Rick Kriseman, either of whom would likely be St Pete mayor-elect today if they'd had the guts to run.

Truer words have never been written! Then again, both of those Dinos, along with Dinos Nurse, Long, Harris, Rouson, Heller, Gerard, Iorio, et al... shat on Ford and backed thier Republican buddy Foster.

The biggest problem with the Pinellas Dem Party is... that there are too many Republicans in it.

I'm proud that my party has a chair who supports Democratic candidates, even in non-partisan races. Good for Karen Thurman.

I'm proud that my em party has a chair that works as a Republican consultant... I wonder why we can't win, Hmmmmm? Good for Karen Thurmadrunk and her Republican bosses!

The Loser of the Week/Weak Club :

Jeff Kottkamp-President
Marco Rubio-VP
Paula Dockery- Secretary
Fundraising Chair for Jeff Kottkamp-Treasurer

Losers of the past 2-years; Florida... thanks to Chuck...

4:25...don't you mean Benson since under her inept leadership the people of Florida are out $120 million during the worst economic downturn of our lifetime? How many teachers would that pay for? How many nursing home patients could be covered?

God bless Marion Hammer, but Dockery's going to need a lot more than that endorsement to be considered a winner.

Big Leap -- no need to be so negative. No one thought the one term US Senator, Barak Obama had a shooting chance either and now he's US President!

To "love them loyal dems". You are quick to criticize your list of elected officials for their failure to support Kathleen Ford. I ask you this question - Has Kathleen Ford ever supported any of those electeds in their campaigns? Has she written any of them checks? Has she volunteered for any of them? Has she walked districts, stuffed envelopes? Even merely attended any of their fundraisers? How about working on the Presidential campaigns (and I don't mean listing your name as an attorney) or the last campaign for Governor. Don't remember ever seeing her at a Jim Davis event.

And you have the guts to say none of these Democrats, all of whom have been strong advocates on democratic issues in their respective branches of government are Dinos?

Give me a break.

Why don't YOU run for office. Probably because you'd never WIN!

BILL MCCOLLUM WILL YOU OR WILL YOU NOT KEEP GREER ON AT RPOF??

4:25 has some serious issues. Having personal vendetta's against someone just causes you to rant and rave and make yourself look like a crazed, lunatic. Why don't you go home, do some yoga and then try again with some valid points having to do with issues. Come on... I will help you... ohmmmm. ohmmmm, 0hmmmm...

You guys who apparently do not like 4:25 (either Rubio or Kottcamp fans, maybe both) might as well be saying EVERYBODY LOOK AT WHAT 4:25 HAD TO SAY , because that is the affect your entries had on me. 4:25 loves you guys.

Dumb.

4:25 is right on the money.

The Winners in Okaloosa County:
Rubio, McCollum, Kottkamp, Putnam and Patterson.
The LOSERS: Crist, Dockery, Benson, Baker and Atwater.

"And you have the guts to say none of these Democrats, all of whom have been strong advocates on democratic issues in their respective branches of government are Dinos?"

Hahahahahahahahaaaa... whoooo, you pinheads crack me up.... Hahahahahahahaaaa... what a bunch of saps you Pinellas dingbat Dems are... hahahahahaaaaa....

1. A contested primary is never good for a candidate. Especially one who lost his last contested primary.

2. 99% of Florida has never heard of Okaloosa County. 10 months is plenty of time for Crist to annihilate Rubio's record, including his sales tax plan two years ago, the largest tax increase ever proposed in Florida's history.

With his dismal record, Christ can't assail anyone's record and have any credibility.

"Christ". A legend in his own mind.
