Jim Greer's old assistant calls him "belittling and degrading"

One person who won't be coming to the defense of FL GOP chairman Jim Greer? His former executive assistant, Jaimee Colley, who told Buzz she spent a very unpleasant three months working for Greer in 2007. (The party said she was fired within her 90-day probationary period for poor performance).

"I was expecting to be able to write speeches and have more of a role working with politics and working with the Republican party. I started realizing that what I signed up for was basically to be his personal assistant,'' said Colley, who said Greer was constantly "belittling and degrading."

Greer would reprimand the 21-year-old Colley for failing to clean his condo, she said, or for not removing the plastic covering his dry cleaning. She was instructed to schedule massage appointments for his out-of-town travel, and he berated her once when a spa was booked up. "He said, "You need to march back in there and tell them who I am and make sure it gets done,'' she said.

She recalled Greer on a staff retreat once asking her if she wanted a personal or professional relationship. Professional, she said, and soon after she frequently received reprimands for not performing menial tasks well.

At one senior staff meeting Greer sent her a blackberry message instructing her to bring him coffee. She did, and he told her it was too sweet and to get him another.He sent that one back too. "He said you should know better than to bring it in a Styrofoam cup. Go get my Starbucks mug."

"He was not somebody I wanted my name to be associated with,'' Colley said.

I've known Jaimee for a while as well. She's a sweet girl, but I'm not sure if this isn't just a bitter ex-employee making something out of nothing. I'm sure Greer did as her to do menial tasks, and I'm sure he probably is an arrogant, hard to work for boss.

I've known Jaimee from various community organizations and know she's extremely driven and someone who let's their work ethic speak for their success.

How can you say she's not bright? She removed herself from an unprofessional work environment and never was a whistleblower. She did it on her own accord and I've heard she had legal advice through the whole process. She worked harder and longer hours than any of the men on his Senior Staff. And she didn't get let go from WCTV she got a promotion in another city.

Anyone who has worked with her knows her work ethic is one of a kind and she's nothing short of a respectable classy young woman.

She probably intimidated all those arrogant men! If she wanted
to play the victim she would have opened up as soon as she resigned. Obviously there's something wrong with the picture when you make your resignation effective immediately and can't stand to be around that pathetic man another two weeks!

Thats right, for 2 years, the Chairman had an advance team at RPOF. he team had written instructions on what to provide the Chairman when he stayed in a hotel, rode in a car, and attended a meeting.

I had my own awful experience working with the staff of the RPOF. They treated me with no respect and constantly crossed the line. Dry cleaning and coffee duty are only the tip of the iceberg. The inappropriate behavior that I was subject to was completely out of line. It's only a matter of time before guys like Greer get what's coming to them.

This experience reflects my own working at RPOF, as well. The first year I was there, I had to deal with Terry Kester's belittling, degrading comments and temper. The second year I was there, although I was in a different department with a better boss...anytime we had to do an event with other departments, the ego's came out in full force. All the talent has left the building since Carole Jean was run out of town...Shiver, Becker, Foster, Doster... Almost makes me appreciate the old woman! Time to clean house and start all over again.
