Food Network comment
The official comment from Lisa Del Colle, a Food Network spokesperson, concerning recent allegations surrounding chef Robert Irvine is as follows:
"It's unfortunate if Robert embellished the extent of his culinary experiences. We are investigating the matter and taking the necessary steps to ensure the accuracy of all representations of Robert on Food Network and foodnetwork.com."

Mission impossible? lol Are they referring to his show? Or his embellishments?

I really don't care if he embellished or not, I'll continue to watch Dinner: Impossible

Looks like Chef Robert is the culinary version of Milli Vanilli...

I am always amazed in this age of instant information so little research is performed with these delusional types. This man's claims are as accurate as L. Ron Hubbard's official biography.

I love his show, and he can certainly cook. Let him without sin cast the first stone.

Milli Vanilli? Bad analogy.
You wouldn't want Milli Vanilli "singing" at your wedding reception, but I bet you wouldn't mind Robert Irvine doing the catering.
See the difference?

really, how do you know Milli Vanilli can't sing?..just because they got popped faking it, most assume that they can't cut it. And, as similar, Irvine'd food may taste horrible. Seems like both parties need to give Warhol some minutes back

"Let him without sin cast the first stone. "
Okay, here come the first stone...
Anyone who so blatantly lies about his experience to gain fame deserves to lose his show. A Knight? Are you kidding me? Like that couldn't be tracked. "I prepared Princess Diana's cake...when I was 15!!
I certainly hope Food Network has the moral fortitude to let this pathological liar go!

powerage66,
Dinner: Impossible may not be on the Food Network any more. His Bio and link has just been removed

My late-father actually have cooked for a U.S. President John F Kennedy at Miami's Fountainebleau Hotel before opening China City in the 60's.

Actually I know half of Milli Vanilli can't sing...he's unfortunately dead. The other tried a solo career in folk music (you can't make this stuff up) and absolutely could NOT sing. But, I digress. The point is, Irvine was wrong to punch his resume up, but the man can obviously cook. And his show is an obvious hit -- just got picked up for a third season (though let's see if it actally happens).

I enjoyed Dinner Impossible, but I hope he gets canned. He embellished his record and used it to get a TV show. He deserves nothing. If you can't make it on your own, you shouldn't make it.

I also enjoyed the show, but this man has recklessly damaged innocent people, and apparently not just in the Tampa Bay area. For that, he should suffer the same consequences as JAG did on the FOOD Network competition. They terminated him, and how couldn't they terminate "Sir Robert"? I sensed the minute I met him that he was a fraud, and he knew that I smelled a cooked rat...

Will, how did you meet him? What were the circumstances?
Posted by: The Mouth | February 22, 2008 at 07:01 PM
No one can do that type of show better. I am sure he is not the first person to embelish a resume!

Bring Robert back!!! Dinner Impossible was the only show I watched on the food network. The new guy sucks!!!

I WAS DELIGHTFULLY IMPRESSED WITH GUY'S FAMILY APPEARING WITH HIM ON HIS SHOW(S). QUITE REFRESHING.

I was delightfully impressed with Guy having his family on his show(s). It was refreshing indeed.

i think the shows are great but i think that you should make one so that kids could show people how to make stuff two

I think the execs at The FOOD NETWORK dropped the ball after stealing Michael Simon to be on Iron Chef America.
Chef Simon deserves to be on Iron Chef America, BUT to give DINNER IMPOSSIBLE back to the hands of Robert Irvine was a big mistake. They should have just cancelled the show.
