More Big Easy cuisine in St. Petersburg

Restaurant_2James Walton opened the Wild Shrimp Company six weeks ago in the parking lot of Haslams Bookstore at 2005 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg. It's a quick-meal concept, offering a short New Orleans-style menu at fast-food prices. Think gumbo and jambalaya, or breaded shrimp with red beans and rice and a cornbread muffin. As the name implies, Walton serves only wild Gulf shrimp bought from Bama Sea Products, believing they taste better than farm-raised shrimp.

No question, Head on wild gulf shrimp are an awesome ingredient. Super rich and flavorful. How about some shrimp & grits !!

Wild Shrimp Company's food is delicious! I have tried - and LOVE - everything on the menu! My personal favorites are the conch fritters and grit cakes, with the gumbo and jambalaya following close behind. Their Po' Boys and crab cakes are awesome as well... Oh, and did I forget to mention the fried olives? This is a wonderful new restaurant that I will continue to visit frequently!
