Changes at The Table in St. Petersburg

Is it just me or is there something in the air this week? Downtown St. Petersburg is getting kooks--places opening, closing, changing left and right. So, the latest: Michael Stewart, owner of 717 South in Tampa, is no longer involved with The Table as of last week. Owner George Rahdert brought in Andrew "Wilko" Wilkins on Tuesday as acting general manager (most recently of Mad Fish in St. Pete Beach and partner of Gordon Davis of the various Ceviches for many years before that). Meanwhile, the previous general manager, Joe Moledo has departed to begin work at a new restaurant called Wildwood BBQ & Burger in a defunct Shells location in the new Postcard Inn on the Beach opening this fall.

According to Wilko, the new aim of The Table will be to bring the price point down by offering all entrees at full size/price as well as half size/price. Also, to scale back the wine list pricing and to do more to attract a clientele with a broader age range.
