Peru's potato crop threatened by climate change
Climate change in the Andes is disrupting traditional potato farming, according to this article in the Miami Herald.
Warmer winters and less rain are causing new plant diseases and a plague of rats.
It's bad news for peasants, as well as efforts to promote the under-rated potato, considered one of the most nutritious, vitamin-rich vegetables, as a remedy for poverty.
"According to climate models, temperature in the Andes will increase at a rate more than two times the global average," the article reports.

What does this have to do with the "Fueling" Station? Stay on topic or change the name of the blog name.

Ronnie, perhaps you missed the description that appears at the top right corner of the page under the heading About This Blog: "Global warming, gas prices, 'green' living – how can you keep up with it all? The Fueling Station is your source for energy and environment news in Florida and beyond." We've been blogging about climate change and its effects since the Fueling Station started in August 2006.

Craig, your right, I did not read the area that you have pointed out; however, the link to get here states the following: "The Fueling Station offers practical news on the latest alternative energy solutions, from renewables to nuclear." Nothing in this description refers to global warming. When I started coming to this blog it was to learn about alternative forms of energy/fuels. However, I find myself having to wade through mounds of information about global warming. The title of the blog is misleading. My suggestion remains, stick to content or change the name of your blog.
