Al Gore to Congress: Fix the economy & global warming too
Former Vice President Al Gore went back to Capitol Hill today to tell lawmakers that they should pass the Obama Administration's economic stimulus package as a first step in curbing global warming.
Gore told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that the stimulus money would provide “unprecedented and critical
investments” in energy efficiency, renewable energy, an improved
electricity grid and cleaner cars, according to the New York Times.
Then the Oscar- and Nobel-winning activist pressed for "decisive action" on a bill to cap
heat-trapping gases, saying that it is needed for the U.S. to take a
leading role in negotiations on a new international climate treaty
later this year, the Associated Press reports. Here's his testimony:

I would urge everyone with an interest in learning the truth about Al Gore and global warming to view The Great Global Warming Swindle.

You'll soon see that the debate is not over. If anything, the climate realists are closer to having a consensus.

Al Gore sits there telling us that Man has to change or the planet will no longer support human life. Just what sacrifice does Gore make in his life? None! He is earning millions pimping this crap and yet he lives in a mansion, rides in limos and travels in his private jet. Why does congress give this man one second of air time is beyond me.

Instead of griping about the size of one man's house or his mode of transportation, which just smacks of envy, why not listen to the actual message and look at the evidence?

Dash, before you direct anyone to a viewing of "The Great Global Warming Swindle," you might want to check out what we've written about it previously: http://blogs.tampabay.com/energy/2008/07/global-warming.html

Bob H- I've looked at the evidence, or rather the lack of evidence, that supports Gore's apocalyptic prophecies. The entire global warming movement is structured like an inverted pyramid that rests on a few precious hypotheses and lots of climate model scenarios. The observational data is not sufficiently accurate and trustworthy to verify the key hypotheses. Until that happens, its a false-religious movement and flim-flam scam floating in a cess pool of precautionary principle.

Bob-H, I do not envy Gore in the least. In fact, I am quite comfortable with the house and property I own, but I am not a hypocrite. I do not believe that man has any significant control on climate changes anymore than we can stop hurricanes or tornados. Climate change is cyclical and there is nothing we can do to have any real impact. Having said that, I do see the benefit of being cleaner in the way we do things. Although it will not have any real impact on our climate, it would have an impact on our overall health. It is common since to think that cleaner air is healthier to breath. But I refused to be lectured by people like Gore who are making money selling carbon credits and does nothing in his personal life that reduces his carbon foot print. In fact, I have found that most people who are all hyped up about climate change do little or nothing on a personal level to reduce their carbon foot print. So what about you Bob-H? Other than changing to florescent light bulbs, what have you personally done?

For those of you who care about the truth and will read something truly current on the science go to MIT and read:
