German brothel re-defines "eco-friendly" with discount for bike-riding customers
A German brothel has come up with a novel way to reduce its carbon footprint and also promote its services, reports Reuters.
Thomas Goetz, owner of the "Maison d'envie" brothel in Berlin, is offering a discount for customers who pedal in on their bikes -- about $7 off the usual $100 fee.
"Obviously we hope that the discount will attract more people," Goetz said. "It's good for business, it's good for the environment -- and it's good for the girls."
It helps that Berlin has become known as a city where lots of people use their bikes to get around town. It's become known as one of the greenest cities in Europe, with a flat terrain and clearly marked bike lanes along most major streets.
So far the Swinging Schwinn offer seems to be working, Goetz told the wire service. "We have around 3-5 new customers coming in daily to take advantage of the discount," he said, adding the discount has "helped alleviate traffic and parking congestion in the neighborhood."
Still to be seen: Whether this will lead to a really long detour in the Tour de France (AP photo, above).

Poor hookers. Now they get to earn even less from stinky, sweaty customers.
