Get your kids cooking this summer
Looking for a way to get your kids excited about cooking? Weekday Gourmet in Tampa is offering a Jr. Chef Camp on select Tuesdays and Saturdays in June and July. Kids ages 5-12 will make a meal to take home, design an apron, create a cookie-in-a-jar and learn about kitchen safety.
Visit wdgourmet.com and click on the South Tampa location for more info or call 813-875-3663.
NoHo Bistro, 1714 N Armenia Ave. in Tampa, also offers a cooking camp for kids 5-17. The sessions are offered in four evening classes or five mornings. Kids create banana-nut pancakes, summer suppers, and learn table etiquette and creative garnishing. Older kids learn knife skills, how to roast and braise, sauces such as espagnole, veloute, bechamel, allemande and hollandaise.
