Patterson Chooses Kentucky

Patrick Patterson, the five-star forward from Huntingon (W.Va.) High won't be joining guard Jai Lucas at Florida afterall.

Patterson told a packed audience at his high school Wednesday afternoon that he will attend Kentucky next season.

The 6-foot-8 star had narrowed his choices to Florida, Kentucky and Duke. Many expected that after Lucas chose Florida on Monday, UF coach Billy Donovan might be closer to landing Patterson.

"What a job by (UK coach) Billy Gillispie to land Patterson," Rivals.com National Recruiting Analyst Jerry Meyer said. "
