Tebow earns weekly league honor
GAINESVILLE - Urban Meyer may hbve thought Tim Tebow was too much of a crutch for the Gators against Ole Miss last week, but the SEC office was apparently impressed.
On Monday, Tebow was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Rebels.
Tebow had 427 yards of total offense, including a school-record 166 rushing yards by a quarterback. He also had career-highs in completions (20), attempts (34) and rushing attempts (27), and threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns.
The 427 total offensive yards is best in the SEC this season.
