Men's and women's basketball open with exhibition games

GAINESVILLE - The Florida men's and women's basketball teams open exhibition play tonight. The women open with Warner Southern at 5:30 p.m., and the men will host Flager at 8 p.m.

Coach Billy Donovan said he and his staff most likely would finalize a starting lineup today, but he's not concerned about the starting lineup for tonight's game. His focus is more on seeing just what type of team the Gators have when they aren't playing against each other in practice.

"I'm looking at it in terms of combinations and different things that we want to look at for ourselves,'' Donovan said. "We have several things we want to look at. We want to look at the three guards - Jai (Lucas), Nick (Calathes) and Walter (Hodge) playing together. We'd like to also look at some bigger wings with an Adam Allen and Jonathan Mitchell. We'd also like to look at something smaller in the frontcourt with Dan Werner and Chandler Parsons. So I'm looking at it more from the combinations of what I think we've got to get a loot at, moreso than who's going to start.''

For doubleheaders like tonight's games, all fans MUST have a ticket to the men’s game for admission to the women’s game (or be a women’s season-ticket holder AND and be a member of the BackCourt Club)
Reserved Seating for men's tickets/doubleheaders is $18; $10 for general admission.
