Tebow wins Heisman
Florida's Tim Tebow became the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy, beating out finalists Darren McFadden of Arkansas, Colt Brennan of Hawaii and Chase Daniel of Missouri. Tebow, the first player in NCAA history to both rush and pass for more than 20 touchdowns, finished the season with 51 overall.
"I love being a Gator," Tebow said, after thanking Jesus, his teammates and a litany of others. "I love Gator Nation, and whenI get back we're going to have some fun."
Tebow is the third Gators quarterback to win the award, joining Steve Spurrier and Danny Wuerffel. McFadden was the runnerup for the second consecutive year.
