Florida linebacker Dustin Doe under the microscope for traffic ticket
Despite reports that Florida linebacker Dustin Doe's latest brush with the law is the equivalent of another in a string of Gator football player arrests, the reality is Doe is in trouble for a traffic citation.
Doe has an upcoming court date in August for driving with a suspended license. The license was suspended when he failed to pay a traffic ticket on time.
Once Doe paid the fine, he was unaware that he was then required to pay a late fee in order to have his license reinstated. Without that payment, the license remained suspended.
Doe received a second ticket this past June for driving with the suspended license.
In 2007, Doe was arrested for his alleged involvement in a fight, but charges were eventually dropped.

If you bleed orange and blue, this blog is for you. The Gator Report is written by Florida beatwriter Antonya English and the staff of the St. Petersburg Times. We invite your comments and participation.
2007 he was arrested for fighting - naturally. More of the same from UF.

I also heard a rumor that several Gator players reguarly "Jay Walk" while on campus!!! Will someone please investigate and report on this serious matter?
Winners are always under the microscope by Losers who want what they have but can't earn it on their own.

JayWalk? Hahhaaa, thats cute - UF has students/players/Thugs commiting violent crimes and expecting to be exonerated. Unreal. Nobody gave FSU the #1 wire to wire NC in 1999. Maybe Uf will do that in 200 more years of football.

Morons!!!
In the United States of America you are innocent until proven guilty, even if you are a Gator football player.
Most of the players accused of a crime were not convicted, the ones that were faced more severe penalties at UF than Saint Bobby would ever impose on his poor boys.
Face it, you are just jealous LOSERS who can't beat the Gators on the field so you run your mouths about them on blogs.

Wouldn't you know - once there's any breaking "news" about the Gators (and FWIW this item isn't even newsworthy) the trolls come out and start trashing our team.
A traffic citation isn't an act of THUGGERY, you morons. Cut the crap.

Eeeeeasy, sports fans ... This IS news because it's another case of a UF player dealing with the law--albeit for a comparatively minor issue. And, c'mon, it's a friggin' brief, not a 7,500-word expose. It's not worth the vitriol!

9:25, How does your comment "Winners are always under the microscope by Losers" have anything to do with your players consantly being in trouble? I could see if you had one incident, BUT your talking 25 ARRESTS!...25 ARRESTS! Thats a screaming trend!

I love the comparison to Jaywalking. Gator fans must have their head in the sand. You realize Gator players have rung up charges for: Drug Possesion, Battery, Kidnapping, Resisting arrest, Robbery (even from a dead person), Driving Drunk, numerous infractions with firearms, B & E, etc. Hardly anything innocent your making it out to be.

Funny how the Gator's response is always....UF is great and you are jealous... Wake up and realize that UF is not the Best School in the SEC...Vanderbilt is #1. We don't sell ourselevs short for Nat. Titles. UF is not Harvard of the South; it is a State school (an affordable education = state school) where classes can be watched on Video. Last time I checked, Harvard or Vandy do not accept transfers from HCC or Santa Fe Comm. College. Get real jokers.......

Vandy Boy: Good job pointing out that that school is full of community college grads - JORTS required!

What about the Georgia arrest reports? Think they have a few more than Florida does, oh wait, they are not the national champs. Can anyone list a record of all the teams and see what their arrest report is? I didn't think so, much easier to mouth off than do research and see who the worst offenders are!

Yep everyone is jealous. hahaaaaaa, funny. I wish we had only 3 title in 150 years, history of NCAA violations, worst fans (and colors) in the nation... What a joke. Enjoy being labled as Thug U!!

This leaves crucial info... IE he was cited once earlier in the day for driving with a suspended license. Later in the day he was spotted by the same officer driving after being told not to (still with a suspended license). He got a warning once already!
