Sporting News tabs Urban Meyer as nation's best football coach
While the debate continues over whether Florida coach Urban Meyer deserves a raise, at least one major sports publication has him ranked as the best in the business.
The Sporting News has ranked its top five coaches, and decided Meyer is No. 1.
I'm curious how your top five list would look. Let me know . . .

Maybe all those 'great' coaches will help Uf go undefeated in 150 years of football. Wow, even the Noles won the 1st national title in 40 yrs. UF Never Undefeated? 24 in 4 - live it , love it.

Honestly, Paterno is a great coach, but right now deserves no mention on these lists. He "coached" most of his games from the pressbox last year, how can you have any effect on the game whatsoever from the press box... And no, he wasnt even calling plays...
1. Carroll
2. Meyer
3. Stoops
4. Saban
5. Bobby Beamer
Hon Mention: Gundy, Tressel, Nutt

Thanks for the feedback everybody.
Crazy Eddie, I like the way you differentiate between how you'd define a coach. I think some might argue that if you're a great coach, you have to do both these days.
