Urban Meyer to Notre Dame? Renew the rumors!
Just when you thought the rumors about Florida Gators coach Urban Meyer going to Notre Dame had died down, Mobile Press-Register columnist Paul Finebaum stirs them back up today with a column speculating that Meyer will jump ship after this season. The whole thing is very conspiratorial and Finebaum seems offended that Meyer may have talked with his former Utah assistant Kyle Whittingham about how to play against Alabama last year before the Utes beat the Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl.

If you bleed orange and blue, this blog is for you. The Gator Report is written by Florida beatwriter Antonya English and the staff of the St. Petersburg Times. We invite your comments and participation.
ND won't put up with recruiting thugs and crooks. 24 arrests in 4 years would have Meyer looking for a new job. Sorry troops - he owns UF (win at all cost) and can do as he pleases there. He goes nowhere.

You Semihole fans are so easy to spot. And this from a program that has a coach who would sell his soul to keep his precious wins, willing to trade scholarships for his own glory. Five in a row and counting...

A non story. The guy that wrote the article was just trying to stir the pot and get recruits to believe that Urban is leaving. His son is still in junior high, and both Urban and his wife have said that they will not pick thier son up and move him. Urban will eventually leave for Notre Dame, but it won't be until his son graduates high school

So, David - you agree that ND would never take Urban Meyer? All you have to throw back at your rivals is 5 in a row? When a bunch of felons contributed to those 5 wins?
Remember Catholics vs. Convicts? We (ND) do not want Meyer and his lack of discipline and penchant for bringing low-lifes into his program to help him win.

Not much happening in Alabama, eh Finebaum. I'm sure your intimate knowledge of the Florida coach compelled you to write this piece of garbage. I guess if Saban can't give you anything to write about, then you'll just have to ride the coattails of Meyer until something to write about in Alabama happens. You call this sports writing? Time for you to move to the leisure section baldy!

Even with all the issues at Florida Notre Dame would be lucky to get him.

Uh Domer... Have you lost your mind? I think you're the only ND fan who doesnt want meyer on our side. Keep in mind that while at UF, he's produced a 100% grad rate from his players. Thats more than Fat Chuck weis can say with 94%, and he can bring WHOEVER he wants to run his game at ND because you had best believe that if he comes, championships will follow.

Where did you get that 100% grad rate from? I know of 2 off my head that left and didn't graduate which counts against their rate. That Fayson kid that went to Illinois and Harvin that left early for this NFL.

Just looked it up, UF is tied at 25th in the nation with a 68% grad rate after the 2008 season.

Hey, Valrico, go back to mating with your cousins. Transferring schools doesn't count against a graduation rate.

Truth, ease up on trying to talk tough. I forgot the old federal grad rate counted against transfers. But all those players that left early for either the NFL or because of being arrested do count. My main point was that it ridiculous to say that UF had 100% grad rate when if fact they are 25th in the nation at 68%..
