Gators to try out new uniforms
Some time before the regular season ends, Florida will unveil a special new uniform designed by Nike, that is nearly 40 percent lighter than a normal football uniform.
The Gators will join several other schools, including FSU, Virginia Tech, TCU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, LSU, Missouri, and Miami, who will all wear the uniforms for one game. The uniforms have special cooling and padding, and will include new lighter weight gloves and shoes.
"We have an agreement with Nike to wear an alternate uniform for one of our remaining home football games, but we have no additional details at this time,'' Florida associate athletics director for communications Steve McClain said.
The Gators reportedly will wear the uniforms in their final regular season game against Florida State. An official announcement and unveiling of the uniform to the public is expected later.

Hate it! White helmets make us look like Auburn.

I am surprised there isn't a big Tebow head on the helmet instead of the ugly
"Gators" logo.

I don't like this. All athletes know that you stick with what works. Why take a chance on ruining a Perfect Season by changing uniforms. The National Championship is at hand here.
Another point, Sounds like IF we were to do this that it would be during the Heat of September.

"N'Keese arrest makes 30 arrest in 4 years!! HOORAY UF !"
Is this "N'Keese" you are referring to Nu'keese Richardson? That plays for the Tennessee Volunteers? A kid that was never on UF's team? Yeah, that is what we thought... (sigh)
P.S. Way to go on demolishing that whole "2nd grade reading level" stereotype...

We all loved decades of watching orange paint be smeared all over the opponents helmets and jerseys from those brilliant orange helmet with one of the actual logos used by the team!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Please fire someone!!!!...Oh,but the gloves are nifty, keep them!

....BAD KHARMA..... heap bad "MOJO".... to motivate our arch~~rivals with this uniform change.... "if it ain't broken~~~~don't fix it".... change the material but leave the traditional design.... I feel very "uneasy" about this uniform change just to make Nike a lot more $$$$.... we may regret this.... a lot of teams have in the past.
