Georgia's Nick Williams defends hit on Tebow; Urban Meyer facing possible penalty
Maybe by the end of the season talk will cease over events from the Georgia game, but for now more fallout.
Georgia's Nick Williams said he was just trying to make a play when he put a late him on UF quarterback Tim Tebow in last week's game, and wasn't trying to hurt Tebow.
Georgia coach Mark Richt said the play could have drawn a penalty, although it didn't.
Meanwhile Meyer has seemingly violated the SEC's new rule about coaches publicly commenting on officiating by saying the officials should have called a penalty on that play, so there's a good chance he'll be the first coach fined or suspended by the league for violation of the rule.

Fine him. Fine with me. If he speaks his mind and has facts to support what he says, that's the American way. It's my assertion we are seeing the end of conferences in college football and the start of a structure more like the NFL and then a playoff system.
The SEC has the best overall level of football play, but some of the worst officiating.

O.K., Williams, then exactly what "play" were you trying to make, if it wasn't taking Tebow out of the game by injuring him? You're a defensive player and your were not only nowhere near the ball, you were also not interested in pursuing the ball. You were doing what punks do: hitting a guy from the blindside who was not defending himself. What you're saying, basically, is that not only are you a thug, but you're a liar too. Your own coach acknowledged it was dirty. Please.
What is being ridiculously overlooked in all the hype regarding Meyer's "criticism" of the no-call on Williams' thug-mugging/super-late hit of Tebow, is that just because the SEC commish CAN suspend/fine doesn't mean that he HAS to suspend/fine. The rule didn't MANDATE, or REQUIRE, a suspension or a fine, it just gave the commish the discretion to issue a suspension or a fine if the circumstances/offense warranted it. I would imagine that what was being contemplated was a graduated system of punishment for repeat or egregious offenders.
The rule was given teeth because that clown Kiffin had no respect for it and was breaking it every week. Therefore, since Kiffin and Mullen and Petrino have all been given at least one chance/reprimmand, how ludicrous would it be to suspend or fine Meyer for his first offense? Justice implies equality in application: give Meyer the same reprimmand that Kiffin and Mullen and Petrino got. He's a first offender. Punish him accordingly.

I don't remember Bobby Bowden ever commenting on the play of another team. Urban Cryer is a big baby and needs to coach and be quiet. Maybe he should worry about why he has the most felonies in the last four year. Univ. of Felons

Of coures Bobby Bowden hasn't commented on the other team, Jesse, Bobby Bowden isn't sure which team IS the other team. I can remember Ol'Alzheimers charging out onto the field to celebrate, and this was a few years ago, not realizing it was HIS team that had MISSED the field goal and that HIS team had LOST, and his embarrassed assistant coaches trying to coax the poor old dude back onto the sideline. I'll never forget that silly confused expression on those flabby jowls as he looked around all disoriented beneath that ridiculous safari hat. Yeah, Bobby really doesn't comment on much at all these days. You know the deal: better to stay silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. But, hey, Jesse, thanks for participating! Was wondering when one of you FSlosers would crawl back out from under the rocks. Now get back under there.

If you watch the YouTube clip, you can see Willaims look around immediately after his hit on Tebow; not at the play in progress, but probably where he thought the ref was to see if he was going to get called for his cheap shot. Definitely perp behavior. If he's still with the Dogs next year, he'd better be looking around a lot.

The Truth,
They said every coach now has a clean slate, and the next one to speak out would be fined or suspended. First time or not does not matter....DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM SAYING.......

Wow, "The Truth", that was pretty darned harsh. I guess your plan is to never get old. Good luck --I hope you succeed with that. Ouch, right? FSU girls can be harsh, too, when it is warranted. Or did you even get what I meant?
