Tim Tebow back on top in Scripps, USA Today Heisman polls
After falling all the way to fifth last week in the weekly Scripps Howard Heisman Poll, Florida quarrterback Tim Tebow moved back into first place this week after accounting for four touchdowns in the Gators' 41-17 win over Georgia.
Which only seems to bolster the argument that the Heisman race is wide open.
Tebow led the Scripps Howard Heisman Trophy poll for the first five weeks of the season before plummeting to fifth last week. He's currently in first this week, followed by Alabama RB Mark Ingram and Houston QB Case Keenum.
Ingram, who took over the top spot last week, will have the national spotlight when the Tide plays LSU in a huge SEC game this Saturday. Tebow also has a chance to put up some big numbers because the Gators are hosting a 2-win Vanderbilt team that has been decimated by injuries.
Tebow, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, is also No. 1 in this week's USA Today Heisman Poll.

Antonya, do you have a Heisman Trophy vote?

Tebow leads the SEC in passing efficiency and is sixth in the SEC in rushing. The SEC is the number one defensive conference in the nation. Ingram doesn't even lead his own conference in rushing. Hey, nothing against Ingram. He's a fine running back having an excellent year, but Tebow's arguably the best college football player EVER and although he might be a victim of is own excellence in terms of expectations, still, he's having a very good year and is worthy of the Heisman. Here's an idea: throw all the current college football players in a pool and let Saban and Meyer and Miles and Brown and Stoops and Carroll and Shannon and Weiss and Paterno and Rodriguez and Tressel make their first pick, and see how many of those coaches would pick Tebow. . . . then decide on who you think should win the Heisman. Say what you want about his "wind-up" and all the other reasons the "experts" say he can't play in the NFL, but for today, right now, this year, he's the best player in college football and deserves to win the Heisman trophy.

Oh yeah, so terrible. His team is 8-0. I guess you'd rather have a quarterback with big stats who doesn't win. Did you miss his last game where he had two running and passing TD's? We will see when he and the Gators chomp on your Noles in a few weeks.

Nice loss to USF, NOLES!

What a complete joke, Teblow is having a crappy year and the refs have kept them from being beat. When the ex Heisman winners vote it won't be for Teblow..

We'll see who actually gets the award and it won't be Tebag from the Univ of Felons. I'm glad they finally fined Urban Cryer.

Hey Razzlegaytor, it doesn't go to a QB, rather the best player and that would be Ingram or McCoy.

4 games left for Tebag and then the gaytors suck again.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? - you're one of those tiresome people whose personal ego is wrapped up in a sports team. You know, the kind who thump their middle-aged chests when a 19-uear-old stranger does something glorious on a football field, and actually believe themselves great because they cheer for something good. That's the case here - - I understand only too well.
I prefer Charlie Ward - 22-2 as a starter (NBA,NFL,MLB offers)

Gotta love it - all those other QBs are better than Tebow, and yet their teams KEEP LOSING!
They've nailed all the right stats except, you know, the win-loss stats. Hee hee.
