Britney's back on stage

Don’t call it a comeback, folks. MSNBC reports bewigged wonder Britney Spears hit the San Diego House of Blues late last night (which would probably be early this morning for us) for her first public concert in three years.

Wearing a sparkly pink bra and a short white skirt, Brit-Brit didn’t let her knee-high go-go boots upstage her belly button ring, reports say. She also covered her shorn locks with a brown wig, which managed to stay on during her choreography. And no, we don’t have a photo, because we can’t afford a $10,000 paparazzi pic.

The club’s marquee announced only an appearance by “The M&Ms,” but fans who listened to Internet and radio rumors and paid as much as $125 for a ticket were rewarded with the five-song set, including her original hit, Baby One More Time. Five songs? For $125? She must have been paying off that visit to Promises (with a concert that was as long as her stay).

But not all were happy with the new Spears in town. Twenty-year-old Morgan Segall, who flew in from San Francisco just for the show, complained: “It looked like she lip-synched her way through the whole thing.” Apparently young Morgan never saw Brit’s earlier shows. [Photo: AP]
