Now O.J.'s been arrested for that break-in
O.J. Simpson was arrested Sunday after an alleged armed robbery at the Palace Station casino in Las Vegas over sports memorabilia the 60-year-old claims was his, the AP reports.
Prosecutors were planning to charge Simpson with two counts of robbery with use of a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, burglary with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and coercion, Clark County District Attorney David Roger said.
Just the robbery with a deadly weapon charges carry a sentence of three to 35 years each!
“He is facing a lot of time,” Roger said. At least one other person, Walter Alexander of Arizona, was arrested in connection with the incident.
O.J. said before his arrest that he and other people with him were retrieving several items that belonged to him from the hotel room. He claimed there were no guns involved, but the people staying in the room had stolen several of his personal items, which included his Hall of Fame certificate and a photo of he and J. Edgar Hoover. So then why didn’t he justa call police?
“The police, since my trouble, have not worked out for me,” he told the AP on Saturday. “It just becomes a story about O.J.” And now it’s really become a story about O.J.
