Spinoff to 'Beverly Hills 90210' on the way
In case teen-agers aren't yet brainwashed enough into thinking they should lead the spoiled, ever-entitled lives of the rich and shameless, the CW is planning a spinoff to '90s hit Beverly Hills 90210.
The Hollywood Reporter says the untitled show, which would be the second spinoff of the popular Fox drama after Melrose Place, isn't going to include 90210 creator Darren Star. There also is no indication of which, if any, of the original characters will be involved.
The Reporter speculates this decision is being made because of the success of the network's Gossip Girl, which, instead of being about rich kids in L.A., is about rich kids in New York.
