Alicia Keys thinks feds invented gangsta rap

Alicia Keys sure has some interesting theories about where the big trends in hip-hop are coming from -- namely, good ol' Uncle Sam. Keys told Blender that "gangsta rap" was created as a government ploy to convince black people to kill each other.

"'Gangsta rap' didn't exist," Keys said in an interview, which will be in the May issue out Tuesday. Who's responsible? "The government." She goes on to say that the deaths of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. were egged on by The Man.

"(The murders were fuelled) by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing," she said. Keys apparently wore a gold AK-47 pendant around her neck during the interview ecause it "symbolizes strength, power and killing them dead." It's no surprise that Keys has been reading books by leaders of the Black Panthers lately.

At this point The Juice* would crack a joke at Keys' expense, but really, she's starting to freak us out. Next thing you know, she'll be telling us the White House made up reasons to invade Iraq.

I think personally, everyone has their own opinions, and this actually is not the first time I've heard this before. Just seems odd to others unaware of the situation because its coming from a famous artist such as Alicia Keys herself.
Yes, I believe it seems over the top outrageous that the Feds would take all this time out to worry about the black society, when they care more for other things.Def. a hyperbole.

Alicia is a talented artist but I think it's pretty safe to say that she is an idiot.

I first read about her interview with Blender from my fellow blogger Juan Perez over on Highbrid Nation. I couldnt beleive it. I had always thought she was smart. Little did I know. In reality she is a cross between a Black Panther and a retard.

...she still looks good though ;).
