Sean Levert's family wants FBI to probe death
The family of Sean Levert, who died after a medical emergency in the Cuyahoga County jail in Cleveland, want the FBI to get to the bottom of what happened. His cousin, Michael Gibson, said the 39-year-old singer had never before had an outburst like the one authorities are describing, the AP says.
Levert, who was serving a one-year, 10-month sentence for failing to pay $89,025 in child support, was allegedly pounding on the door of his cell Sunday night, prompting guards to strap him to a chair. His breathing became shallow and he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died less than an hour later.
FBI spokesman Scott Wilson says agents will meet with the family, but toxicology reports are still pending. Seems to us pounding on a cell door would be the thing to do if we felt like we were dying.

Make this your daily (heck, hourly) stop for a fresh serving of pop smarts and cool things from around Tampa Bay and the nation. Compiled by tbt* jack-of-all-trades Joshua Gillin and his merry band of rogue journalists, it pokes fun at ridiculous celebrity worship, collects entertainment tidbits and features fun links to amuse and amaze you and your friends.
As a very close and loving personal friend of Sean Levert's and someone who is living and fighting with the same lung disease Sarcoidosis you can not die from natural causes..and I am so tired and angry when I read that. The coroner should have chosen his words more carefully. You can die from the complications from the many ailments that Sean suffered from but not natural causes and to constantly keep repeating this to the public is an insult to Sean's family, friends and fans and to his memory in my opinion.
It is a shame that Sean's is only going to remembered as the national celebrity and the brother of Gerald Levert and son of Martha & Eddie Levert, who went to jail for non child support, but people go to jail everyday for non payment of child support..so what, but that isn't the true story but no one that, no one knows what a great father Sean was to he is children, or what a great family member he was to all those he loved in his family or what a great friend he was to all those he called friend. It is a shame how quick people want to jump on the band wagon when there is negative news but not positive news. Sean Levert was a great friend, a great family man, a great loving person and I can attest to all and he touched the heart of all that came in contact with him for he had a big fun loving heart and to be his friend was truly a great honor. And he is going to be so lovingly missed my his family his friends his fans and the world...just like his brother Gerald.
All those who listen to gossip and negative things should be ashamed of themselves.... is this what we have come down to "GOSSIPCHASERS"..we need to spend more time worrying about your own lives and stop chasing what we think is a lie about someone else's life. STOP destroying the lives of other people just to sell a story..a newspaper or a magazine...be better than that....for you would not want someone to destroy your reputation on a lie...think about that the next time you are out to chase a story! We all deserve better respect!
