'Fraggle Rock' is coming to a theater near you
Hollywood has recycled every other beloved childhood franchise, so why not the Fraggle Rock? The Weinstein Co. is making a live-action musical feature of everyone's favorite non-Muppet vehicle by Jim Henson, Variety reports.
The plot will take the original gang -- Gobo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red -- out of their home and into the real world, which is never a good plan. Hopefully they'll find Uncle Matt out there. It'll be a mix of humans and puppets, which at least quells our fears of it being a cartoon.
Hoodwinked! director Cory Edwards will be in the chair, with the Jim Henson Co. producing and Weinstein distributing. There's no word on who will be playing the Gorgs, so we can finally see just how much bigger than humans they really are.
