News flash: Nick Hogan is not happy in jail
One of the great things about celebrity gossip is that you don't expect it to really be true, since all of the sources are "friends" and "spies" and "close to the stars." That must be why the New York Post's Page Six has an item about Nick Hogan languishing in jail after being sent up the river following the accident that left John Graziano in a vegetative state.
"Nick's doing really bad. He's struggling to even form a sentence," a "friend" told the Post. "They have him in a cell by himself, isolated from the general population, because of threats. He didn't understand how awful jail really is until now."
First of all, if The Juice* ever had to go to jail (stranger things have happened), all by ourselves in a cell sounds just fine, lest our cellmates get too close for comfort. Second of all, the Post says he's in "California's Pinellas County Jail," so that shows how careful they are with their facts. And third of all ... well, we don't have a third of all. But we do know jail = bad times.

Poor Nick, to listen to those recorded conversations of his parents, and himself, no wonder the kid acts like a baby. I often wonder who gave Nick the alcohol, maybe they should be reliable for all this mishap. If he is underage , shouldn't his parents also be responible for his actions? If a child shoots another child with a Dad's gun, isn't the Dad going to jail? Didn't Nicks parents give him a sports car, riding the streets with, knowing his love for speed.Sorry , but if it was my son , without all the money, he would have been in jail for 8 yrs, not 8 months.Don't feel sorry for the punk here, grow up and do the time , you committed the crime!

Please leave this family alone. I;m sure Tampa has more news worthy of print than 2 families who need to heal. But the editors seam to find enjoyment with printing the slow demise of a family.

Jeff, you're right about the reality show. Go to tmz.com and listen to the conversations Nicky has with dad. He's asked his dad to get a "reality" show going about how he's getting his life back on track. Oh, and how he wants to make as much money as possible off this.

Hey sptimes.com, go check out www.tmz.com They have tape recordings of jailhouse conversations between Nick and his parents. Listen to them!
Hulk blames the victim, and tells Nick that John p*ssed off God and that's why he's in a coma. Nick agrees and says John was a negative person.
Bring this out, sptimes.com I hope that the Grazianos have awesome lawyers and take the Bolleas for every last dime.

You have some incredible insight into this family, Yvonne. With the certainty you describe how Hulk provided the alcohol and the detail with which you know that money has ruined this kid. Amazing insight. Really. You should have your own show.

How many of you have been or have a family member hit by a drunk driver...???? If you had you would see the real danger in all of this ... and yes the bollea kid had alcohol in his system ..no doubt by Hulk. Also NIck is a speeder and reckless driver..... My daughter was hit by a drunk driver .. I know the results...
He has yet to learn a lesson ... and his parents apparently have not had the right stuff to raise him .. Lots of money but obvious that has ruined this kid....

I listened on TMZ to tapes. He complains nothing to think about !"Mother" tells him to keep busy by fixing the bed .tell him to think about the consequences of his actions !self consumed ALL OF THEM
Posted by: angry | May 23, 2008 at 04:40 PM
He did not take it like a "man" He took a plea to save himself from more jail time. Now insofar as him going into hiding, HA HA HA HA HA.
Posted by: Lenore | May 23, 2008 at 03:47 PM
He'll do 8 months and then come out and do a reality tv show called "nick free and 21" or something and cash in on his "personal tradegy". This generation loves this crap.
Posted by: jeff | May 23, 2008 at 02:10 PM
I have read so much BS about this case. Leave the Bollea's alone. Until you have been in a situation like this or similar to this, you shouldn't have a comment. You don't know how each family will act. You would be suprised on how supportive that they can be to each other. Nick is doing his time. He did man up and take his punishment. If he didn't he wouldn't be in jail! He could have ran and never been found. His family sure does have the means! My heart goes out to both families. I have been where the Bollea's are (similar situation) and it's not easy.

It is OBVIOUS no one here read the blog above ... IT IS MAKING FUN OF THE PAPER THAT WROTE IT!! It clearly indicates huge errors such as being in CALIFORNIA'S Pinellas county jail ... please read before jumping to conclussions. Bottom line is probably no one has talked to anyone, simply a writer who is bored and decided to write something to be sensational and contoversial.

BOO friggin' HOO...
He thinks an isolation cell for 8 months is tough, he should try being in a coma for life - he's a cry-baby punk, and his parents are as much to blame as he is - I am sick and tired of these celebrity families and all their so-called drama...
Posted by: Jeff | May 22, 2008 at 09:22 PM
Maybe Nick would rather trade places with John. I'm sure that County lock up isn't a fun place to be but it is a far cry from being in the big boy jail.
Posted by: Lenore | May 22, 2008 at 07:16 PM
Let the kid do his time and pay his debt. He's paying for his mistake. County jail is not as easy as you would think. As for the 24 year old Marine. It's a shame. But, he is also responsible for his own actions. Unfortunate for both young men and their families.

Nick's sentence was not harsh at all. He had alcohol in his system, was underage to drink, had a history of excessive speed, and was clearly racing. That's different than speeding/fast lane changes causing a wreck. I knew this jerk was not going to man up to the charges. Now he is crying that he should have taking this to trial.
Posted by: bill bomb | May 22, 2008 at 06:57 PM
WHAT A WIMP! I am so glad that he is cryin' the blues. probably the best thing to happen to that little sissy. May actually make a man out of him. This jack-ball has NO idea of the real world and now he is getting a healthy dose. Note to Nick: jail cells are small.
Posted by: Johnny M | May 22, 2008 at 06:47 PM
His parents pulled him out of CCC because his mom said CCC was full of fights and drugs. Funny thing, Nick's the ONLY kid from that class at CCC sitting in jail. Hmmmmm! CCC is a safer place now.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I love it, he is complaining about being in a cell the size of his bathroom. Plus he is mad about not being able to play cards, I hope they put him in with others & has to fight for himself for once. Instead of Mommy & Daddy fighting his battles for him. Bite that pillow Nick!!
Man Up!!
Posted by: Ben | May 22, 2008 at 03:17 PM
Brock, the kid was underage drinking, speeding and put a veteran in a situation in which he will need medical care for the rest of his life. You want people to stop attacking him, then he should not have been the spoiled little kid and got behind the wheel. Also Nick and Terry (hulk) didn't have a choice to face the music the courts made them. I'm sure they tried to avoid it.
PS: How's the wrestling career?
Posted by: David | May 22, 2008 at 11:56 AM
me, did that person have a long history of repeated driving infractions? Including speeding up to 100 mph? There is a reason that sentencing left up to the judge; each case is different. Nick had repeated chances to learn from his behavior. He was repeatedly stopped and warned and ticketed. Was the other driver?

NICK's SENTENCE WAS HARSH!!!!!
Look at this same attorney
ST. PETERSBURG - A Bradenton man who witnesses said was driving recklessly when his car collided with an armored truck on Interstate 275 three years ago, killing the truck's driver, will not spend a day in jail.
Donald Reese, 53, pleaded no contest this month to a charge of vehicular homicide and was sentenced to probation after his attorney argued it would be better for Reese to pay restitution to the estate of the dead man than spend time in prison, court records show.
The amount Reese was ordered to pay the estate of Ira Stringfield is $2,750, computerized court records show. Reese paid the money Friday, six days after he entered his plea.
Reese also was ordered to pay restitution to Stringfield's passenger, Jesus Perez-Guillermety, who was injured in the wreck. That amount was $1,575. Reese also was told to pay the Florida Highway Patrol $5,342, the records show.
Witnesses said that on May 2, 2005, Reese drove a Miata recklessly on I-275 and collided with the armored truck north of the Roosevelt Boulevard exit, court records state. The Miata was weaving in and out of traffic and was going 10 to 15 mph over the speed limit, witnesses told authorities.
After the Miata struck the armored truck, the truck flipped on its side and skidded across the road, through a guardrail and into an embankment, records state.
Reese was facing a possible prison sentence, but his attorney, Kevin Hayslett, asked for a downward departure from sentencing guidelines on the grounds the crime was committed in an unsophisticated manner, it was an isolated incident for which Reese showed remorse, and restitution to the victims outweighed the need for a prison sentence.
"Because the need for Mr. Reese to pay restitution to the Stringfield estate and to Mr. Guillermety outweighs the utility of his incarceration, and also because Mr. Reese would be fully able to pay restitution, this court should sentence him below the sentencing guidelines," Hayslett wrote in a motion that was granted.
"Mr. Reese has the finances to make significant and prompt restitution to the victims," the motion stated.
"In this case, the victims are in great need of restitution because the decedent's family lost a significant source of income and Mr. Guillermety suffered injuries that would have accumulated medical bills," the motion said. "Mr. Reese exercised poor judgment but never possessed any intent to commit a crime or to cause harm."
Assistant State Attorney Holly Grissinger did not return telephone calls to her office over a two-week period. Hayslett, the defense attorney, said Reese originally was looking at a prison term of nine to 10 years.
The judge in the case was told in court, however, that Stringfield's widow was not asking that Reese be put behind bars.

confederate, you did "3 of a nickle?" How old are you anyway?
Posted by: Banglijk | May 22, 2008 at 07:36 AM
He isnt in prison he is in the county jail, not even max security. im sure he is bored stiff. GOOD

It does not matter that John did not have a seatbelt on. NICK was driving therefore NICK is responsible. Had NICK driven like the law dictates John would not be in the state he is in. Just NICK would be responsible had he hit a pedestrian. Or would it be their bad for being on the sidewalk or median?
You blame women for mouthin' off to the men who hit them, too?
FYI - he did NOT plead guilty.
I find it hard to buy that he's all by his lonesome. They throw 15 yo kids in with the general population, they just try to place them carefully. Bad times? Amazing how people can adapt. He'll have plenty of cash. That'll help.
Posted by: | May 21, 2008 at 06:55 PM
Duh: I agree with you. It is a tragedy that a young man's life is over, but he was a consenting adult who chose to get into a car with someone who was drinking, and it was his choice to NOT wear a seatbelt. I do give Nick credit for standing up and being an adult, taking punishment like an adult.
Confederate: sounds like your aweful proud of doing 3 on a nickel..there are those of us who have never been to prison, and I for one wouldn't think 8 months was nothing.
John's family has suffered, Nick's family has suffered..whether people stop and think about it or not they have. John is family to them and it has to hurt that he is gone as the person they know. I wish the best for both families, and hope time heals some of the pain.
Posted by: JamieLee | May 21, 2008 at 06:55 PM
Nobody asks what John would have wanted for Nick...If they were truly friends as has been stated I doubt that John would have wanted Nick to do time. This was an accident. My son was in an accident that his girlfriend was driving. His life has been changed drastically, but we do not wish bad against her. Accidents happen, life deals crisis to you, you deal back with it. But some families, when they see a way to make a buck, jump on the wagon
to profit. John is being taken care of by us the taxpayer (as a vet). Get off the hating of the Hogan's. If they didn't have money, this would not be in the news.
Posted by: Melody | May 21, 2008 at 06:53 PM
8 months is nothing. I did 3 of a nickel once. He is not in prison but county jail. If he had any sense he had a pack of Tops and a mini-lighter in his booty[you would be suprised]when he went for sentencing and he will learn to make buck. Daddy sends him cash for commissary. He is fine.
Posted by: confederate | May 21, 2008 at 05:27 PM
Well all this crying about what nick did is dumb because John made the biggest mistake of all he didnt put his seatbelt on. And you cant tell me he and nick hadn't done this sorta stuff before. Car Accidents happen he took responsibility for it...fyi kids do stupid things while driving cars...get OVER IT...if John (an ADULT war vet by the way) had worn his seatbelt this wouldnt even be in the paper anymore because he'd would have recovered already just as Nick did...Stop dumping on Nick because his family is rich...grow up and quit dumping on people because they have money.

"The fact that his mistake cost someone his health is regrettable "...regrettable? are you serious? the man is brain dead. this family is white trash, and you are a moron.
Posted by: tony | May 21, 2008 at 04:30 PM
It's time to stop attacking this kid. He made a mistake, he took responsibility for it -- and now he is doing his time.
The fact is that this experience is going to make him a better man, more parents should handle these issues this way.
I believe that people should back off let Nick Hogan do his time and learn his lesson. This is a very young person -- who amongst us didn't make mistakes when we're were young?
The fact that his mistake cost someone his health is regrettable but he seems to be taking full responsibility for it and I believe that this needs to be the focus now. You can't get back the victim's health -- at this point the best you can do is work on improving the future.
So credit to Nick and Hulk Hogan for facing the music and taking the medicine.
