Gina Gershon: The media tells you all lies

Gina Gershon continued to rip on the fourth estate in an interview on Live with Regis and Kathy Lee, saying the recent Vanity Fair article insinuating she'd been having an affair with Bill Clinton "is a crazy, outrageous lie that really has nothing to do with me at the end of the day."

While the 45-year-old actress says that she has met the former president three times, it's the media's fault for picking up a tiny little rumor and blowing it up into something that's gotten her more press coverage than she's had since she played Cristal Connors in Showgirls.

"This disturbed me on so many other levels that I kinda felt I like I had to stand up for myself and speak the truth," she told (get this) Mario Lopez, who was filling in for Regis Philbin. "And you know, the thing is, journalists today ... it's so scary because they take these rumors or hearsay, they put it in a story, then that story goes around the world in about a minute courtesy of the Web and people read this, they perceive it to be the truth -- so therefore, lies are the new facts."

Given our current occupation, The Juice* can kind of see her point here -- especially with glassy-eyed Amy Paffrath shouting throughout the E! video clip above -- except we were quite sure to point out it was an insinuation, and not a fact. So therefore, it's the fault of you, our readers, for believing it. For shame.
