Jamie Lynn Spears' baby pics all over new OK!
In case you were wondering just how long it was going to take Jamie Lynn Spears to sell out and exploit her illegitimate child on the cover of some glossy rag, wait no longer! The teen mum is on the cover of the latest issue of OK!, spouting off to everyone that hey, it's fine to get knocked up at 16, as long as you can make money off it.
The EXCLUSIVE! photo shoot shows Jamie Lynn (now 17, for those keeping score) and Maddie Briann Aldridge, who was born on June 19, swaddled together looking ever-so-much like the poster children for teen pregnancy. Spears relates every excruciating detail to readers:
"They'd told me it would be an eight- to 12-hour labor, and I was ready to have the baby in three to four hours," she says. "I had a perfect pregnancy and a perfect delivery. I was very blessed."
She also was blessed by the presence of the whole Spears clan, including big sis Britney, who came to the hospital for the event. But it was 19-year-old fiance Casey Aldridge who got to be in the delivery room with her.
"Once I got in there, my doctor was just so calm and so good it was not bad at all," she says. "I was just talking to Casey. And you know what's so weird? I was asking him if he was okay. He was like, 'Yeah.' We were both so excited."
"Yeah" sure sounds excited, doesn't it? The mag says Spears' labor was induced, but she gave birth naturally, with no complications, which even The Juice* admits is good news. We're split, however, on whether mom Lynne Spears' hands-on attitude is a good thing, since she raised Brit and Jamie Lynn.
"Mama has been here a bunch," Jamie Lynn said. "She wants to see the baby all the time. She told me the doctors are always going to be real strict and tell you, `Don't do this and don't do that.' Just follow your instincts. You're the mother and you know what your baby needs. That's what I've done and it seems to have worked."
And while our jaded hearts could make another snide comment about what Lynne's done, we've got to admit, the little bugger is kinda cute. And maybe the new mother will live a happy life of a soccer mom.
"I would love being the soccer mom," she said. "They don't have soccer down here, but I would love being the softball mom driving the kids around."
No soccer in Mississippi? That's the biggest crime of all!

Poor girl, look at all these nasty comments she has to see and hear everyday. I don't see how you people can judge someone without walking in their shoes! I got pregnant at 16 too and I'm doing just fine. i finished high school (which I'm sure she's going to do). I worked a full time job, and maintained a household at just SIXTEEN. So it doesn't matter how old you are as long as a take responsibility for your actions! Having a baby is a beautiful thing. She'll be just fine!

ok. all the people out there ragging on her for having a baby so young need to wake up and open their eyes. The only reason you are looking down on her is because she is famous. Take a look around you at all the young people who are getting pregnant, some even as early as 14. Dont look down on her just because she is famous. Its her life and her baby. Personally i think she is brave for taking responsibilty for the baby and showing some of the jerks out there the pictures when they dont deserve to see them.

oh my god you are all disgusting, wat the hell is wrong with her having a baby at 17.. i bet she's doing a brilliant job who are you to judge?? i think its sick when girls as young as 12 and 13 are having babys with no jobs and no one to support them, jamie lynn has been working on her tv show for years so i'm very sure the person who made the comment about paying for her baby will not be!!! your all pathetic!!!! you go girl!! i bet she is doin a brilliant job looking after her gorgeous little girl, people make mistakes in life at least she is taking responsibilty and looking after her child!!

aww she's so cute.... She looks like Casey.... Congrats.... oh and I like ur hair.

You people need to grow up. I agree that Jamie Lynn was irresponsible for not wearing a condom when she decided to "fool around" with Casey. But don't you think that it was very mature and responsible to not get an abortion, and instead having the baby? She is making good descisions, even if she did make a bad one. Look at how smart she was. She kept herself healthy while she was pregnant, and now she has a beauiful, healthy baby girl. She's getting married to Casey and they've bought a house together. Don't you think she handeled this whole mess pretty well? So stop trash talking her, and give he girl a break. Thousands of teenage girls get pregnant every year, it jst happened that one of those girls was an actress, and had to be in the spotlight uring this. Be kind. She's done the right thing.
Posted by: Katie | July 23, 2008 at 08:45 PM
Let's face it....Jamie Lynn's a mess. Her mom is a mess. And her sister is a complete mess.
But...
I'd probably work all three of them!

Is her hair going gray already? Needs a new colorist.
Posted by: Debra | July 16, 2008 at 05:32 PM
Don't buy the magazine! Don't support Jamie Lynn exploiting her illegitimate daughter this way. We as a society cannot support this very underage teen pregnancy because they are "cute". There is nothing cute about this.

Having a child young is so irresponsible. You can barely take care of your self at 17, let alone another life more fragile than yours already is. Make you boyfriend wrap his crap, or hey don't have sex. It's for married couples. Sex it's special anymore, people have ruined it. The only thing special to marriage now is divorce, which is probably in the near future for Jamie too. Way to go be like your sister little girl.
Posted by: Sam | July 15, 2008 at 11:44 AM
rite, biologically she is ready.
Are u all sure she wont end up like her sister.
That is not a doll, that you can play aorund when u like and leave it when u dont want it anymore.
Come on, man 16..

Another comment says if she was in another country she'd have one or two kids by now. Yeah, in a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY and she'd have been married off at 14.
The fact is many unwed parents are getting public assistance. Why should I have to pay for YOUR kid. My wife and I would love to have a child unfortunately we feel that we would like to be better off financially before we do (and we are both college graduates with decent jobs who really could actually support and pay for a child). Unfortunately the people who can't afford them at all are the ones popping several of them out.
And, how many of you who don't marry your child's father will still be with him in 5-10 years (yes I know lots of married folks don't stay together either)? There is no commitment in America anymore.
I Hope several of you unwed mothers who have commented are enjoying me providing for your baby. Spend that welfare, wic, food stamps, medicare, etc. And don't forget to take advantage of all that free stuff schools will give you too: lunch, breakfast, supplies, a package at thanksgiving.
But of course you have your cell phone, high def tv, suv, ipod, video game system...

Oh and also may I point out it is not just teen moms that are getting government assistance many many many people receiving it are full grown adults. I think you should be more worried about the ADULTS that cheat the system and are alcoholics and get food stamps and cash assistance, and the full grown people the only foster kids for the money, that I think would upset you more than moms who need a little assistance with their children because everything is so expensive nowadays. And teens are going to make their own decision to have children wether or not Jamie lynn had a baby, you people always have to complain about everything and anything you can. It is pathetic wouldn't you rather spend your life encouraging people and making them happy than tearing them down. I had my first baby when I was 19 and I am now on my second at 20 years old, and I LOVEEEEE being a mother. And I think I am a good mother to my child. Jamie Lynn can be as good of a mother as she wants. Oh and as for her being unwed, who cares, we don't live in the 1920's anymore, most people having babies adults and children are not wed, I am not married I am with the father but we don't want to get married yet because we have other things to spend our money on, like our kids, And it doesn't bother us because we love each other just as much as any, actually most, married couples.

I think that this is one of the rudest stories I have ever read. Maybe she will make a great mom, She will make a better mom than the 30-40 year old woman who starved her child to death, or the 30-40 year old woman who drowned her kids, It doesn't matter what the age that isn't the reason some people aren't ready for kids, it's what is in your heart and mind, Maybe Jamie lynn will make a great mother, and then you will be silenced won't you. And I think it is a beautiful thing that she wants to show her baby off to the world because she is proud, If People cared to see me and my child on the cover of a magazine I would be there in a second and I am sure you would be too,Why not show of your beautiful new baby to the world, it is a wonderful thing. I wish Jamie lynn all the best in who leap into motherhood, and I hope everything goes very well for her.

for your info wakeup, everyone cares because their whole family is in the news and they cant help it! and if u ddnit care why r u on this site?? hey what about this? you wakeup with some more knowledge ok?? thank u. aniways, no one should judge her if she got pregnant at sixteen. hey everyone has sex at that age and that just happened to be one of her ferile days! i dont say that i was good but she chose to have sex and that was her decision; she is almost grown. hopefully she wont follow in britneys footsteps!
Posted by: Ashley | July 10, 2008 at 03:49 PM
It doesn't matter what age you have a kid. It only matters how you take care of it. Look all these mothers that can't afford the kids and keep having them. That's what everyone should get mad about. Be an adult and take responbility basically.
Posted by: brandy | July 10, 2008 at 01:57 PM
It doesnt matter what age you are when you have a child. I had my first child when I was 18 yeard old and you people should not be trash mouthing her for her age. All that matters is she loves and takes care of her baby. My child is almost 2 and I am currently in college getting a degree and I am still with my ''Baby's daddy'' we are getting married when we both finish school.
Posted by: Sarah | July 10, 2008 at 11:52 AM
settle down everyone. biologically speaking, she's at the perfect age to bear a child. in other countries, she would have already had one or two by now. quit placing your American standards on this obviously cultured girl.

It is too bad the teens that look at this magazine or watches the media coverage of UNWED TEEN MOM Jamie Lynn describe how wonderful it is to be an UNWED TEEN MOM and might want to go out an have her own baby doesn't realize:
1. Jamie Lynn can afford to take care of her "new family" without any government assistance.
2. They probably will be collecting all the government assistance they can. Welfare, wic, food stamps, medicare, cyesis programs, etc.
I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO SUPPORT YOUR BABY(IES)
Posted by: John | July 09, 2008 at 04:12 PM
I like how people always wriet who cares as a comment. you clicked on it didnt you? you must care
Posted by: duh | July 09, 2008 at 02:25 PM
oh lordy. sure would be nice oi OK! magazine would also publish the statistics about teen moms, like how 60 percent live below the poverty level (but not the ones who pimp out their baby pix to OK magazine!)
